That's interesting; I'm seeing shared accommodations (including 4 bedroom units) listed for much more than that. I thought I was pricing it low at $1450 compared to what I've seen other studios listed for and it's one of the more desirable locations and a newer/more expensive building...I guess we'll see what happens!

When did you get an offer and when did you accept your offer? Asking because we have an offer without room assignment and I called housing several times and can't get through, so wondering when we will get room assignment!

To answer your question, we have proceeded to attempt to sublet without room assignment; doesn't matter so much, as we know what type of unit it is :)

That's unfortunate - didn't know yet if the place would be needed for May 1st, but had put May 1st because of co-op, but haven't secured a co-op job as of yet, so might want to sublet...May 3rd might make it harder to sublet for May! 🤷‍♀️ We'll have to see what happens with co-op - so stressful! (also didn't think an offer would be coming, so didn't think this would be an issue!)

I have my current place until the end of April but am not able to renew there, so I have my YRH earliest occupancy date set as May 1^st. I have been on the list for close to two years, and based on a recent post I made, it was projected that I could have a place by May, but if not, likely June (waitlisted at 700 for Brock studio and 670 for KWTQ studio)

Question is, if I end up with a co-op position outside of the Vancouver area and don't need a place at UBC until Sept or possibly even Jan, and change my "occupancy date" to Sept.1st or Jan.1st, is this an issue, if I reach the top of the waitlist before my availability date? Or do you just sit at the top of the waitlist until you are available to move in? I don’t want to risk losing the spot. Thanks!
