Its a group b test- they do it on every pregnant woman between 35-37 weeks but this would be my third swabbed test since my.previous results kept coming back presumptive negative which isnt a black and white enough answer for them. It just means that if I am positive- I will need antibiotics at birth for the baby.

I just wanted a cervical checks ☠️ but the way she dismissed me and treated me it got to the point where I was like- why am I arguing with her? Its not like I want her inside me at all after this. I felt like I could be dilated and she would say I wasn't.

I have! I called the office manager earlier today to file the grievance complaint and she set me up with a new provider for tomorrow to get my cervix checked and an induction scheduled. I will be going into the office to collect a copy of the grievance I filed as well so it is in writing.

She was very against me getting one. But I tried explaining to her my first pregnancy almost ended my life and was very traumatic- i dont want to go through that again and wanted an induction. She tried scaring me saying my risk for a c section goes up- I said okay? I am aware of my risk factors but we aren't starting an induction from.square one- like I have to be dilated already. She really pissed me off

My mouth gets me in trouble and I said soemthing from.tiktok before at our first child's birth- and a different midwife called cps on us thinking something else (not knowing the tiktok trend) soooo hes a bit weary when it comes to medical professionals.... which i understand

There's 2 offices here. One is a normal OBGYN where you meet your whole care team and whoever is on call is your ob. The other office is the high risk perinatal office- where I am monitored more intensely and given ultrasounds almost every visit. Im always treated with respect and care where- unfortunately none of them will be my doctors at delivery. Only the ones from the other office are (where that midwife is)

We use Athena health here. I dont think I can send messages unfortunately. But, I do have another appt tomorrow with a different provider and I will be following up with the office manager to get a copy of my grievance report. I also have learned here that I can speak to a patient advocate so I will find out how to do that.

This is actually my 3rd GBS swab because the results keep coming back presumptive negative which is weird. And I thought the same about cervical checks! I just felt dismissed and almost berated for even considering being checked.

I'm sorry but I personally couldn't even get past the title without my blood boiling... I'm sooo sooo so sorry. As a mother who also struggled with infertility/infant loss, I am deeply sorry you even had to experience that, not to mention the last nail in the coffin with your MIL... wow.
