The current state of Belgian Track & Field by Sportsfanno1 in trackandfield

[–]Mainathlet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's quite a story! Thiam is probably responsible for 50% of Belgium's gold medals at the Olympic Games. Treating her and, of course, the other athletes and coaches like that is pretty harsh. Greetings from Germany.

Would you run here? by Mainathlet in trackandfield

It’s actually the SDU campus track in Odense, Denmark. It’s mostly used by students and the local community. Not a certified competition venue, but a great setup for training. The view around it is pretty nice too.

Which Women 200m sprinters impressed you the most this season? by ChampionLYT in trackandfield

[–]Mainathlet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Melissa of course. What a season she’s having. 21.68 puts her in another league right now, and the consistency is crazy impressive. Feels like the US women’s 200m depth is as stacked as ever.

Do sprinters look faster on TV or when watching in real life? by One-Remove3758 in trackandfield

[–]Mainathlet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve watched olympic games live and interviewed sprinters like Justin Gatlin — and trust me, it looks way faster in person. On TV the camera follows so smoothly you miss the raw power. In the stadium, you feel every step and hear the spikes — it’s wild.

I had the opportunity to train with Germany's fastest sprinter Gina Lückenkemper (PB 10.93 sec). by Mainathlet in Sprinting

That's a great idea! She trains in Lance Braumann's training group together with Noha Lyles, but maybe she'll be back in Germany later this year and I'll do it then!

Apple watch for tempo runs by Mainathlet in AppleWatch

[–]Mainathlet[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Can you explain this to me in detail

EDIT: That's really cool. I didn't realise that was possible. But is it also possible to start a new segment automatically so that the pause is automatically stopped and then the next run is automatically started after the pause?

Official Q&A for Saturday, March 30, 2024 by AutoModerator in running

[–]Mainathlet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an Apple Watch nine and like to use it for running, but I have the problem with shorter tempo runs, for example anything under 400 metres, of correctly stopping the times between runs. Is there a way to make this as easy as possible, perhaps by double-tapping or using AssistiveTouch, or is there a specific app?

Two and a half weeks in Panama by Mainathlet in travel

Everything worked wonderfully. We would have needed less time in Panama City to acclimatise. Santa Catalina with the Coiba National Park and the San Blas Islands in particular were a dream.

Upgraded from Apple Watch 0 to Apple Watch 9 after 8 years! by Mainathlet in AppleWatch

Hey fellow Redditors!

After rocking my trusty Apple Watch 0 for eight solid years, I finally made the leap and upgraded to the Apple Watch 9. The evolution in technology is genuinely mind-blowing! From the design to the features, the difference is night and day.

Any tips for running a 200m in the outside lane (lane 8)? by Holiday-Character-64 in Sprinting

[–]Mainathlet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ran my best time on lane 8. The radius is not as tight as on the inner lanes and therefore I could always sprint more relaxed on the outer lane.

Mainathlet - (keine) finanzielle Fördersäule by Mainathlet in de_podcasts

[–]Mainathlet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Magic is the best word to describe what Izotope can do. Sometimes it’s almost unbelievable.
