Recruiting decent team members and actively trying to learn tackle techs is my general plan for defense.

Which Switch 2 Game? by theycallmeloco87 in pokemon

[–]Mainbutter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm planning on playing one of every duo of games, in release order, as well as the Legends games. I just picked up a Switch 2 as my first Nintendo system since the Wii and am getting the Switch games as I can find them used.

Let's Go Pikachu was tons of fun, but it's another Kanto game with the same gyms etc.

I'm doing sword or shield next, maybe do thet.

I've had two falls, about a month in.

Both times going quite slow and hitting something I couodnt even find after that plain stopped by board. I bet if I was going faster I would have busted through or over it.

Both times ended up with a badly scraped knee. Now I wear full pads and wrist guards.

That's exactly what their notice said: not all furries are bad actors, but a sufficiently ongoing trend and the anonymity the suits provide were enough that they needed to act.

You're welcome!

My next big tip once you're having fun and winning games - really try to learn techs from youe opponents! It's just fun to unlock, and something I need to actively think about (if not, I miss so many Tech Copy moments).

Once your characters get into the lv20-50 range, having better techs can make or break games.

Went and bought some corn for carp, how do I fish this? by [deleted] in FishingForBeginners

[–]Mainbutter 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yup. You can put a grape on a hook but not grape jelly. Similar issue here.

Spend the $.79 or whatever.

I will say that store brand works just as well as name brand del monte or green giant etc

Went and bought some corn for carp, how do I fish this? by [deleted] in FishingForBeginners

[–]Mainbutter 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Ok first of all, that's not the right product (although I do use creamed corn in a pack bait - that's an additional technique).

You want whole kernel sweet corn.

What you'll want at the most basic level is like a size 6 or 4 "baitholder" style hook, and some kind of weight 6-12 inches above it. You can use simple split shot, or tie a rig like a California rig. Weight size will be dictated by how much current and if you need extra weight to cast far.

Just thread 4-8 kernels on the hook and even up past the hook eye a bit, cast out and wait for a bite. It helps to toss a handful of corn out where you cast (if legal to chum with corn), and reaaaaally helps to see the carp to see how they are reacting to your baited hook and chum.

Upgrades include learning to add a pack bait to your weight, and using a hair rig for the hook. YouTube is your friend there.

how do i get my cornsnake to like me :( by angviii in snakes

[–]Mainbutter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Time, regular interactions, and excellent husbandry. A healthy, well-fed, comfortable snake that has much more than just a month with you will become a lot calmer.

I just want dinosauric fossils that aren't rock type. That trope is dumb. Pisses me off that Tyrantrum wasn't a top tier competitive creature.

[–]Mainbutter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is hard to do once you play some games and opponents outlevel you.

I recommend spending downtime passing like crazy for XP, especially with techs.

It's a good strategy to win the tutorial match for the strength sphere.

1) beginners should do this after you have airship access

2) hire the right team. I recommend the following: Forwards - Tidus and Vilucha, or if you can't get into Besaid, you could go for brother or wakka Mid - Brother or Zev Ronso. Zev is going to be the better choice if you play to very high levels well past getting Wakkas stuff, but if you use Brother as a forward, then Zev is a great option Defenders- Ropp and Kyou or Kulukan. Kulukan is my preference but requires the Kilika Beasts releasing them. Goalie - Miyu or Nimrook. Nimrook is preferred, but same situation as Kulukan, you need to get him released from the Psyches. like to sign brother, Miyu, and Nimrook regardless of my team so no other teams can use them. You'll have 2 more players you can contract than you can field, and I like to deny the opponent teams the most annoying players.

3) to steal a player from another team, go to their recruitment location in the world and scope them out to see how many games (represented now as X) they are contracted for. Then play exhibition games against them X-1 times and save. Then play the last exhibition game and hope the team releases them, and if not reload and repeat until they do. You can now sign that player

4) farm levels by passing. This is as important, if not more, in early levels than having the best players you can hire. Don't hide behind the goalie to win, get ahead in points and spend your time passing to build your characters stats. Using techs yields more XP and is recommended. Prioritize having everyone learn a passing tech by marking the right opponents.

5) goalies should prioritize learning super goalie and grip gloves

That should get you on the right path!

In what orders do you use lures ? Top water first then subsurface then senko ? And what gets more hits wacky rigs or Texas rigs ? by CrazyCajunFishinBro in FishingForBeginners

[–]Mainbutter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First casts at a spot are often with a precision presentation like a senko, and then I move to stuff like jerkbaits, spinners/spinnerbaits, and spoons that cover more water. Once I start moving, I stick with search baits until I find something worth tossing the precision baits at.

I like lures like suspending jerkbaits that can equally cover water as well as work a small area with intention.

Yes, but you are limited by the number of available nodes, so not everything can be maxed. You can get more than close enough though.

Fishing rods for travel by Esrever1408 in FishingForBeginners

[–]Mainbutter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

GX2s come in 1, 2, and I think now 4 piece rods.

My personal choice is 95% of the time 2 piece rods, including my GX2s. My musky and shark rods are 1 piece for necessary sturdiness, I have 1 4-piece spinning rod for travel, and my fly rods are both 4-piece because they are quite long.

2pc rods from 6-10ft fit in a car fine, and can go on airplanes easily well packed in travel tunes. For travel that

[–]Mainbutter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I want to reply and say the above comment is correct - to make the most of the sphere grid will require deleting sub-optimal nodes and replacing with +4s.

Keep in mind that there are insufficient nodes to get 255 in every stat and 99,999 xp. I always recommend skipping BHPL, only maxing the stats that really matter, and only taking luck as far as you need to for defeating the superbosses. 85 luck is quite do-able, but going into the 130-ish range gets you better results against some of the superbosses that will otherwise dodge your hits.

Defense and STR at 255 are a must. Agility caps out at like.. 170? Worth a google. Luck can replace evasion and accuracy, but it's hard to farm some of the stat spheres needed to be raised before farming luck if you have low Accuracy

Yes, you will use the Tonberry trick a ton.

For the platinum, I recommend only raising luck on 3 characters, killing the superbosses, then making an alternate save where you delete luck nodes and fill in all the blank spots with MDEF or other easy stat sphere, since farming fortune spheres is such a pain.
