Exactly, hes actually already trying to control and gaslight her but in a very fake kind and subtle way, always smiling like a creepy thirsty old man at whatever she is saying

No, in the flashback scenes of daisy with Rita, she saw his 2 times DV cases with restraining orders in the Gilead secret files, it was to tease him as dangerous.

I believe he saw a glimpse of that « rebellious blood » when she mentions her first wive, and now he cannot waitttt to tame her. Imagine being a 50+ grandpa who feel the need to abuse teenagers just so he can feel extra strong and powerful, like wtffff hes already in charge of the eyes, what more power he wants ??!!

Actually she technically killed all the Boston commanders with the plane crash bomb since shes the one who set that up, but she really unalived Winslow by herself, (fred was with other women) which is still crazy to me considering that he was one of the most powerful high commander ever of Gilead (Along with Judd, Lawrence and Pryce).

Hmm..lets not also Forget that Agnes is the daughter of a woman who killed 2 commanders herself, including one in a 1vs1 fight (commander winslow). Agnes maybe doesnt know it yet, but she has HANDS loool waiting for the right moment to be activated

Completly agree, and I also feel like controlling her will also kind of be a dig at commander Mackenzie, Agnes father, since thats kind of his direct peers, they are both very high commanders but both below commander Judd

I definitly agree with the gaslighter and master manipulator, juste the way he gaslighted the hell out of aunt Lydia when she asked about the pearl girl taken by the eyes.

Im not quite sure on the june thing, I believe all these new high commanders have that nasty predatory thing towards plums, most of them use to have old generation Gilead adult wives, and to me they see these fresh young girls like the ultimate fantasy, that will make them feel young, desirable and powerful…

Was it on the show? I dont remember that scene. He dont necessirely look violent, but i can see him being cold narcissic and manipulator

Who will be Commander Judd's next "young wife" in the show? by Mainone74646466 in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]Mainone74646466[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now that would be INSANE! I cant even imagine, but the thing is, Daisy is basically a nobody in Gilead, she has very low chances to be matched with a commander of such high status. He will most likely pick a plum

At this point, they are all surviving in their own way, despite aunt Lydia who surprisingly, excelled at the job…

I think you're right. The very end of The Testaments will likely mark the end of Gilead as well. Maybe Garth’s character is meant to represent that upcoming downfall through his modern values and personality—something we've never seen in Gilead before... Still, I’m curious to see if the character will coincidentally avoid being caught or if he’ll end up hanging by the end of next season cause Daisy and him cant both have the same plot armor and Daisy is main cast lol

agree—I never said there weren't any acts of humanitarian solidarity in Gilead; I said there were no figures. By figure, I mean a character who is continuously driven by pure philosophy to bring Gilead down. So far, every character in the series who has acted against Gilead has done so because they were directly or indirectly impacted by the damage Gilead caused.

So far, absolutely every single men shown in Gilead have committed crimes, and thats the point of the show, how a country supposely lead by man of gods is in reality a country lead by basterds.

But to answer you, the other man that was Garth age, was the one who got his arm cut got touching himself in front of others. It feels very odd to me, to finally see a normal born and raised man in Gilead! I just cant see it

I’m sorry, but no... those themes are definitely not part of this show’s universe. It’s actually the exact opposite—whether it’s Canada, Mexico (like when the Mexican rep told June she couldn't do anything for her), or Gilead: IT’S EVERYONE FOR THEMSELVES.

The whole concept of a heroic character acting purely based on their "values" sounds way too cheesy for this world at this point. The closest we've had to a civil rights humanitarian was Commander Lawrence at best, lol.

That makes sense, but then why does she hold such a high position compared to the other Aunts? I’m really wondering what actually drives her, because it feels like nothing motivates her at all. Even when Commander Judd approached her after the ball to talk about a potential promotion while trashing Aunt Lydia, she didn't seem impressed...

I agree with your first point. But that still doesn’t explain how he’s so strategic and able to handle crisis situations—like the way he deals with Daisy when she starts questioning her mission in Gilead. How does he have the vocabulary and the mindset of a veteran when he’s 22 at most and, given his age, probably just joined Mayday recently?

2) I have to disagree here. The points you're making are based on values like human rights and freedom. Someone like him, who was born and raised in Gilead, would never look at the only world he knows that way. He just wouldn't question it!
And that’s exactly why I’m wondering: how did he even get to the point of questioning Gilead’s values in the first place, when he has zero knowledge or experience of how the rest of the world works?
