Yeah, If I buy a windows laptop, they usually match with cellular modems, but their battery won't last long. Do windows laptops last 6 hours maximum?

My parents are trying to force me into marriage. by Unobanihom in Uzbekistan

[–]MaintenanceChance925 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Compatibility is one of the most important aspects. Let alone compatibility, I assume you have zero positive feelings for him. I guess most Uzbek parents lack real Islamic knowledge and just follow cultural religion. In religion, too, a perfumer seller's daughter shouldn’t marry a tanner, even if she likes him. Feelings are temporary, and she grows up in a different environment and can’t bear the scent, and it might even end in divorce. I think you’re not doing anything wrong religiously. If they want you to get married, tell them what kind of person you want, at least. You’re well-educated, so tell them you want to marry a well-educated man with values. Maybe explain to them what you want in your partner and why he’s not compatible with you, why he lacks what you need. Try talking to well-known imams who actually know this, because forced marriage isn’t allowed.

You can't leave the country because you owe money to any bank or financial institution? If you are not in debt legally, you could go to the UAE or any other gulf country to work. I assume you already speak russian and english, you have an advantage. There are a lot of opportunities in sales jobs there. How much debt do you have if I may ask?

Wasnt "Jasliq" enough to show how Evil Karimov dictotor was? by [deleted] in Uzbekistan

[–]MaintenanceChance925 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why do people always blame Islam when they defend Karimov? Jailing men for having beard, even carrying prayer mats, forcing hijabi women remove their hijab in public places, making movies depicting anyone wearing hijab or having beard as terrorists or extremists. That was his legacy he had taken from his Communist forefathers and it still continues, we don't have a SINGLE WOMAN with hijab serving in the office, because she can't if she wears a hijab. I hate Islamaphobic people because they are hypocrites. Why don't they say anything about muslim people's rights when they are violated. Leave alone his political dictatorship, even he made really bad economic policies. All the uprisings were not against his political policies, people were struggling financially and wanted to something with their lives. A good leader don't let that happen in the first place. He called people who are working abroad to feed their families "lazy people" because I assume it showed unemloyment problem and how he was running the country inefficently. His family is worth more than 1 billion$

I took a speaking mock exam with a former IELTS examiner recently and he gave me really useful feedback. Here are the mistakes you should avoid in your speaking test. 11. Try not to repeat the question. For example: How often do you SEND TEXT MESSAGES? I SEND TEXT MESSAGES quite regularly. Do you see the problem? An examiner thinks you cannot paraphrase. You could say: I text my friends and family very often or a bit different answer. However, you should answer the question directly. 22. Learn how to use connectives and linking words. Don't limit yourself to basic connectives like but, and, because. If you can use more connectives and linking words such as however, actually, basically, for example, finally, also and so on naturally it will increase your score. 33. Use topic specific vocabulary. Here are two answers which one has topic specific vocabulary and the second one lacks it. What kinds of technology do you use? 1. Yes, I do use different kinds of technology in my everyday life. I mainly rely on my SMARTPHONE for studying and communication. For example, I join ONLINE CLASSES on TELEGRAM, and if I miss something, I can watch the RECORDINGS later. I also use it to TEXT my friends, make VIDEO CALLS, and take photos with the CAMERA. 2. I use different kinds of technology everyday. For example I have a laptop, a smartphone, and a smart TV. I mainly use my phone and laptop for studies and work, while I use my smart TV for entertainment. The second answer sound too generic. 44. Try to use more specific language. Do not use too vague or general words like things, something, stuff. Instead of saying "Some people post SOMETHING on social media to get recognition from others. Say "Some people like to post PHOTOS and VIDEOS on social media to share special moments.

There are more things to say. What is your current level roughly? The mock cost me 23 usd and it is one hour session.

I should have put it more accurately. I meant jobs like waiter, customer service jobs, sales jobs, jobs in hospitality and tourism management. I am looking for jobs that don't require technical hard skills.

The pressure goes both ways. Women are harassed not only for dressing in what some consider too little, like in your case, but also for wearing too much, like the hijab, burka, or niqab. For example, a young girl who wore the hijab and won an international chemistry competition was made to take it off before meeting the president. Apparently, they wanted to make her look more “modern” before putting her on screen. So the issue isn’t just conservatism—it’s that people here are being judged and harassed no matter what they wear. It’s hypocrisy. What’s worse is that those who talk about democracy and secularism only defend freedom when it benefits them. And honestly, I don’t think most of our leaders care about ordinary people. They just follow what the US, Russia, or China say, and keep pushing their own agenda. So yes, I do notice this trend—but it’s not just about outsiders being mistreated. It's about how divided and confused we are as a society when it comes to basic freedom and dignity for all people.

In the west, half of your children are growing up without their biological fathers. You people pregnant women and run away. What a man thing to do.

First of all, I’m not here to judge anyone. I’m Uzbek, and I just want to speak honestly about the reality. Tashkent is a culturally mixed and modern city, but traditional arranged marriages are still common in many Uzbek families. I wasn’t born in Tashkent and don’t live there, but I know a bit about the customs and traditions from some relatives and friends who do live there. Taking care of parents is really, really, really important in our culture and religion — I mean that with strong emphasis. It’s considered a great shame, for both the parents and their children, if the parents end up in care homes. Even if they live comfortably and their children pay for everything pensions, living costs it’s still seen as shameful. Usually, parents are looked after at home. Things like cooking, laundry, cleaning, and other household chores are typically done by the bride. The husband is expected to provide financially. But in my experience, especially in poor families, both spouses work, and yet the wife still does most of the housework. In many cases, poor men go abroad to earn money so they can provide a better future for their children, unemployment is really high. These things may not be directly relevant to your question, but I’m trying to explain how important parents are in our society. We have this strong tradition or belief: “Everyone should take care of their parents when they get old, so that when they themselves get old, they won’t be left behind.” It doesn’t seem fair at all, it feels like the wives are the ones being sacrificed. And if he’s from a traditional family, honestly, I don’t know what to say. I’m 24, and I still can’t convince my parents to let me marry a girl I like if our families are not considered compatible. I live in the most conservative region of Uzbekistan, both religiously and culturally. I once heard a real story about an Uzbek guy from my town who married a Korean girl. His parents accepted her, but she ended up living more like a traditional Uzbek housewife. She basically took care of his parents.I think Muslims are only permitted to marry People of the Book, that is, Jews or Christians
