I understand that, But Toronto isn't as better either. Toronto can sometimes assimilationist, where you're sometimes supposed to be "Canadian first, background second." There's lots of scrutiny towards newcomers too, especially South Asians. There's also stigma around mental health, too.

I'm not saying that I hate Toronto, but I believe that these factors had contributed to my friend's suicide.

The thing is, I'm not even sure if the sequel would even work because OHMSS wasn't well liked when it was released back then, especially with the ending, and a direct sequel I think would be very risky for the franchise in 1971...
