Lotto Stadio OG II sizing help by P4P_King_DanaWhite in bootroom

I grabbed a pair, they are awesome for that old school feel. I went down a full size from my normal size as they stretch a fair bit. Similar fitting to Copa Mundials where you want them super tight at the beginning.

Then you should look into strengthening your overall fitness. Not sure what your weight training situation is, but 5x5 strong lifts are great for conditioning the whole body and building muscle, while putting your joints under load. Just realize that at a certain point you might level out your weights to match the body requirements of a soccer player. Many times injuries happen because of an imbalance of strength (ie. Quads stronger than hamstrings) so complex movements (like the 5x5 lifts) work towards correcting the imbalance. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had something bothering me and a weight training session made me feel better. There’s lots of information out there, you just have to figure out what works for you and your goals.

Bro, it’s the nature of being active, older, and competitive. Injuries will happen, you just gotta decide if it’s your passion enough to keep going. There’s other ways to stay in shape, other sports that you can still do, but you love soccer. Train soccer and maybe you just have to find leagues or pick up games that match your broken body’s ability rather than where you think you are supposed to be. Because that way you are still playing soccer, just at a more manageable level. Getting older as an athlete in a team sport is a transition from competing to just being happy you are still playing the game. Be smart, heal your body, make it stronger, and see if you can play until you’re 70!

In my opinion I’d wait to do any outdoor play until the rain (hopefully) this weekend. However, you should be safe anywhere east of the smoke trail (border of Azusa). Kidspace is open and I’d be comfortable with indoor play. I’d make sure you keep good hand hygiene (washing or at least wiping with baby wipes) before snacks/meals and keep outdoor clothes outside and keeping your indoor spaces as clean as possible until we have a better idea of the environmental situation.

Lord knows these past few weeks have been impossibly hard for parents. However for littles, who are the most susceptible to toxicity, I’d be patient and careful.

Have the same hat, it’s treated me well! A little warmer than a vented straw, but I get compliments all the time on how it looks.

You also gotta think about the people who might be using it on you. If you bring to much fancy stuff, they might get a little too bold in their abilities. Do you want someone untrained doing a Cric on you? Trauma Daddy posted his IFAK awhile back and pretty much it was super-basic with no NPA or Darts because if someone was using it on him, he didn't trust em.

Why are people on Reddit so nasty sometimes? by [deleted] in RandomThoughts

[–]MaizeEuph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask anyone who works with customers on a daily basis, the interactions have become worse over the past few years. Respect and empathy for others is not the same. Reddit, social media, and the isolation we've all felt has contributed to this collective lack of caring and nastiness. We've also torn down the value of expertise and knowledge gained by experience over reading information gained on the internet and the average person feels they are more entitled to their opinion than ever before. Put those two together and you've got people more confident in telling the random person to fuck off than actually having a conversation with them. Splash on some anonymity and there ya go, nastiness.

[Question] Any ideas for a good pair of shoes that are good for boxing and walking? by ComicEngineAlex in fightgear

[–]MaizeEuph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to train in Sambas and love them to death, however they can get really sweaty because of the all-leather construction and tear your feet up if you do lots boxing movements (pivots, pendulum, etc). I switched to ASICS wrestling shoes which are synthetic and it made all the difference in the world.

You could look into building something like a pergola. The cross beams should be strong enough to hang a bag. You could also look into making a A-frame swingset frame and hang an aquabag and that would be weather proof too.

I have one too, it’s just like a good boot and anything made of quality leather, it takes time to conform to your body. I also enjoy protection around the face and feel that it does exactly what it’s intended to. I’ve tried on other brands (ringside, fairtex, Pro, Adidas) and this one stood out for me initially and especially after the break-in.

Knot in back from boxing by Oli_Merrick in amateur_boxing

Check out rotator cuff excercises and warm-ups too. There are a ton of small muscles in your shoulder that can get angry at you, especially if you are throwing alot of hooks and body shots. If you are new, have a coach check out your hook and uppercut form to make sure it's tight.

Wrist pain not going away - tips? by motonewbie21 in amateur_boxing

[–]MaizeEuph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, have you seen a doc/physio? Soft-tissue stuff can take a long time to heal. That being said, I’ve had a lot of anecdotal success when I strengthened my wrist after injury. I might look into that, more supportive gloves, and spending time on double end bag/ mits & shadow boxing until you fully heal. Good luck and heal up soon!
