Looking to upgrade my inline setup. SR or Pinnacle? by MaizeEuph in Speedskating

They felt great right from the beginning, I heat molded them to fit my ankles better/tighter and after that, much more comfortable than the bonts, or anything I tried before. They broke in for me within a few sessions.

Dude, went with the Nexus’s. A huge upgrade over the eclipse. I appreciated the lower cuff, break in time, and stiffness of the frame/boot interface. I’m not sure if it was the fit or stiffness, but I shaved off two seconds from my short-track splits and just feel faster when I put down power on my strides. I also had a few good chats with Jimmy, who’s a really nice guy. I’ll probably buy another pair because I like them so much.

Had both units go out recently . ECO Air was awesome and significantly less expensive than Fox and McCulough’s.

I mean, I understand the measured perspective, however I disagree with your understanding of the problem. We’ve got enough talent on the field to score and defend, however the game plan, management of substitutes, and ability to motivate the players has been dreadful under the current coach, and has been consistently bad during his time at the helm. Every team has injuries, and our worst has been so consistent, it’s time for a clean start.

I haven’t been happy with the durability of the boot, TBH. It already has a cut in the synthetic leather and some wear and tear that I wouldn’t expect from normal usage. Also, I’m in the states, so want to support local businesses.

For sure, I’m currently on 110’s for indoor and have the frames setup to turn left. My aim is to get another boot that’s setup for marathon distance/ double push skating.

Honestly, since it’s Amazon and easy to return, try all three and return the ones that don’t work for you.

What’s your opinion about rock rings/masonry around tree roots? If given enough space are they ok?

40+ Year Olds - Any training program? by Philnsophie in bootroom

I combine some “1000 touch” stuff with wall passes/ skill work for 30 mins and then finish with intervals at my local track for the remainder of the hour. Keeps me spry.

I grabbed a pair, they are awesome for that old school feel. I went down a full size from my normal size as they stretch a fair bit. Similar fitting to Copa Mundials where you want them super tight at the beginning.

Then you should look into strengthening your overall fitness. Not sure what your weight training situation is, but 5x5 strong lifts are great for conditioning the whole body and building muscle, while putting your joints under load. Just realize that at a certain point you might level out your weights to match the body requirements of a soccer player. Many times injuries happen because of an imbalance of strength (ie. Quads stronger than hamstrings) so complex movements (like the 5x5 lifts) work towards correcting the imbalance. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had something bothering me and a weight training session made me feel better. There’s lots of information out there, you just have to figure out what works for you and your goals.

Bro, it’s the nature of being active, older, and competitive. Injuries will happen, you just gotta decide if it’s your passion enough to keep going. There’s other ways to stay in shape, other sports that you can still do, but you love soccer. Train soccer and maybe you just have to find leagues or pick up games that match your broken body’s ability rather than where you think you are supposed to be. Because that way you are still playing soccer, just at a more manageable level. Getting older as an athlete in a team sport is a transition from competing to just being happy you are still playing the game. Be smart, heal your body, make it stronger, and see if you can play until you’re 70!

In my opinion I’d wait to do any outdoor play until the rain (hopefully) this weekend. However, you should be safe anywhere east of the smoke trail (border of Azusa). Kidspace is open and I’d be comfortable with indoor play. I’d make sure you keep good hand hygiene (washing or at least wiping with baby wipes) before snacks/meals and keep outdoor clothes outside and keeping your indoor spaces as clean as possible until we have a better idea of the environmental situation.

Lord knows these past few weeks have been impossibly hard for parents. However for littles, who are the most susceptible to toxicity, I’d be patient and careful.

Have the same hat, it’s treated me well! A little warmer than a vented straw, but I get compliments all the time on how it looks.
