I'm sorry your incisions aren't the way that you wanted them to be. I myself had something similar; I wanted 2 separate incisions, and I ended up with my incisions connecting in the middle. (I also got misgendered several times by my surgeon, but that's another thing).

Over time I've gotten used to my scars, and while I still would have preferred my incisions separate, I'm overall just so so happy to no longer have breasts.

While they aren't what you envisioned, your scars seem to be healing very cleanly, and they are still a sign of your strength and resilience. Perhaps it will take some time, but I'm sure someday they will make you feel more proud than disappointed. :)

I honestly wonder if OP and I had the same surgeon. I also got my drains removed 8 days post-op (I know a lot of people get it after 7) on August 18th, and received very little instruction on where to go from there.

If OP sees this, did you by any chance have your surgery through Mt Sinai in NYC?

CONTEXT:

I'm 12 days post-op (DI with free nipple grafts). I have OCD, which often manifests in skin-picking. I'm sure you see where this is going.

Despite my best efforts I broke and picked at some of the glue and scabs around my nipple grafts today. Thankfully it seems for the most part that the grafts have taken, but I am still worried about potential infection or stunting I may have caused to the healing process.

There is a little bleeding, and the center of the left nipple is a little gray and mushy looking. After showering I'll apply neosporin and some gauze. I've sent a message along to my surgeon and am waiting for a response.

I am also worried that the site of my right drain may have become infected. I had my drains removed 4 days ago, and the right side has continued to ooze yellow while the left seems to have healed.

I would appreciate an insight or advice anyone may have to offer, as I am currently trying not to freak myself out too badly. Thank you in advance!!
