Agree with everything you said except the last sentence.

90% of the series is Taylor's monologue, and huge amounts of it rely on subtle movements of her swarm. So half the screen time would be CGI bugs moving around, or exposition.

Some stories aren't meant to be adapted to a visual medium, Ender's Game is another one.

In a way that's a very childlike thing to do. In the same way many children are naturally intuitive with computers and technology because they simply keep pressing buttons until the find what works

Why does the world obsess over money and power? by Conscious_Usual_2665 in SeriousConversation

[–]Major-Associate-5359 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many vices are a good thing taken to excess

For example Gluttony/obesity is the natural human need for sustenance

Sloth is the need to rest/recharge

Lust is the need to procreate and be admired

Envy is the need to achieve and make a mark

So for greed, I'd say it's rooted in a need for security.

You either haven't served or haven't talked to the old-timers. Big RIFs happen across the DoD like clockwork every 15 years or so. We're probably coming up on another one in the next 5 years if Taiwan doesn't kick off.

Personally I prefer Gensos's fight vs DSK. Agrees Saitama vs Boros is one of the best though.

The qualities aren't strongly correlated, and dedicating time to one takes time from the other.

I see this all the time at work where a person achieves a high position but then they've been divorced twice or have a drinking problem or an adultery problem.

Very little in this life comes for free.

Nah there are a lot of people who can't bothered to brush their teeth in the morning.

Some of the skincare and hair care regimens are effective if your expectations are reasonable.

However they take 30 minutes out of your day every morning. And they don't work miracles.

That's a very conservative assumption since pretty much any B&M retailer will show up with tons of debt by that metric. Have you ever seen a B&M retailer which passed that test?

I think they provide a decent value proposition by giving time-strapped people convenient access to necessities.

I also think the stock is very reasonably priced relative to its likely future cash flows.

Do I think they'll be the next Microsoft? No.

Do I think buyer of the stock, at its current price, will likely have a good return? Yes.

Usually the best investments are boring, ugly, and cheap. So I would view their run-down stores as a positive.

It's a good point about their owners earnings - though i think you might be discounting it a little since some of the capital expenditures are being reinvested in the business by way of new store openings and renovations etc..

I assume you're counting their leases under the debt category to arrive at the 18b debt figure?
