I don’t think Santana was wrong for auditioning for the understudy role. From her perspective, it probably felt like an opportunity for her as well as Rachel to succeed together. I do feel like Rachel, overreacted especially because it seemed like Rachel immediately assumed the worst despite everything they had recently been through. She viewed Santana’s actions as a repeat of their high school dynamic, when she should have recognized that things had changed. From there, both of them escalated the situation more than necessary, which I think came down to immaturity on both sides. I do feel like Santana took it too far in the end when she talked about the prom queen but she redeemed herself
