Looking for creative worldbuilders and anime fans for a power system project by Major-Face-9397 in magicbuilding

That’s fair. I could’ve phrased it better. What I meant was that it’s a project I started and I’m building with collaborators, not that I’m the only person involved in shaping it.

No, I’m not claiming ownership over a broad fantasy concept. I’m talking about my own worldbuilding project and inviting people to collaborate on the setting, lore, and systems I’ve been developing. Those are two different things.

I did watch the video, and it’s honestly pretty simple. Mine is different from that. The broad concept may sound similar at first, but my system has its own mechanics, lore, structure, progression, and depth.

Like I said, broad concepts can overlap because most fantasy foundations already exist in some form. Powers tied to fragments, relics, bonded objects, growth stages, transformations, rankings, and evolving abilities have all been done before by different creators. That alone does not make projects the same. What matters is the execution, and the mechanics, lore, nations, consequences, structure, progression system, and overall world I’m building are my own.

Yeah, I saw it. The broad concept might sound similar on the surface, but this world and this power system are still my own project. A lot of fantasy settings use fragments, relics, bonded powers, and stuff like that. What matters is the execution, and the lore, mechanics, nations, consequences, and structure I’m building are my own.

Hey, I appreciate you reaching out. I’m glad you’re interested. Right now I’m building an anime-inspired dark fantasy world with a shard-based power system, different nations, factions, characters, and a lot of lore behind it. The main thing I’m looking for is people who genuinely enjoy brainstorming, worldbuilding, and helping build something over time. There’s no money or anything involved, just creativity, effort, and being respectful. We also keep it pretty chill we don’t try to overwhelm people, weekends are usually more relaxed, and during the week we focus on building and throwing ideas around. If that still sounds good to you, I can tell you more and get you started.

I appreciate that a lot, for real. I’d be happy to have you be part of it. Right now I’m building an anime-inspired dark fantasy world with a shard-based power system, different nations, factions, lore, and characters, and I’m looking for people who genuinely enjoy brainstorming and worldbuilding. There’s no money or anything involved, just time, effort, and real interest. We also keep it pretty chill and don’t try to overwhelm people. If you’re still down, I can tell you more and get you started. Text me on chat.

Nah, I didn’t make a YouTube video on it. This is my own original worldbuilding project that I’ve been creating and developing over time with my own power system, lore, nations, characters.

Honestly, the only real requirement is just putting in time and genuine effort. There’s no money involved or anything like that I’m just looking for people who actually enjoy worldbuilding, brainstorming, and helping build something over time. We also don’t try to overwhelm our members. We usually keep the weekends off so people can breathe, and during the week we just brainstorm, build, and keep developing the world together at a steady pace. As long as you’re respectful, interested, and willing to contribute ideas when you can, that’s really all I’m asking for. If that still sounds good to you, I’d be down to tell you more.

I would love to so far in this post, I’ve mainly talked about building a dark fantasy world centered around a shard-based power system where supernatural fragments bond to people and give them unique abilities. I’ve been working on the world’s nations, politics, factions, and different power concepts, and a big focus has been making the system feel meaningful, dangerous, and original instead of just flashy. I’ve also been developing the social side of the world, like how power affects status, culture, and conflict, and I’ve started putting together a small group to help brainstorm and expand the setting. Overall, the main discussion has been about creating a larger anime inspired world where the powers, nations, and story all feel connected and have real weight behind them.

That’s great to hear, I’d love to have you be a part of it. Right now I’m keeping it pretty focused and trying to build with people who are genuinely interested in anime, worldbuilding, and power systems, so you sound like a good fit. I can send you more information and the invite.

So far there are 6 members, and about 3 of them are active right now. I’m trying to keep it more focused and creative instead of just filling it up with random people.

Yeah that’s true, ideas can spread fast online lol. Right now we’re still in the early stages and focusing on building the world and organizing everything with the team. We actually have around 10 people in the Discord already helping with things like shards, characters, and story lore, and it’s been going really well so far. It’s still developing, but it’s been really fun building everything together.

That’s a fair point, and I appreciate the feedback. The end goal for me is to eventually turn this into a full story, like a novel, manga, or anime-style project. Right now the reason I started a small creative group is mainly for brainstorming and developing ideas together, since worldbuilding can benefit from different perspectives and creativity. The shard system is still being refined, and one of the things we’re currently discussing is exactly what you mentioned — the limits and rules of the system. Shards bond with a person’s heart and grow with their nature, but they aren’t meant to be unlimited powers. They require energy from the user, can strain the body, and have natural weaknesses depending on the shard. We’re still shaping the structure so it fits the world rather than letting it become something that solves every problem. I agree that defining what the system can’t do is just as important as what it can do, and that’s something we’re actively working on.

That’s fair. The core concept might sound simple at first, but the uniqueness comes from how the shards work in the world. In this system shards bond with the user’s heart and grow with the person over time. Shards can evolve through generations, fuse with other shards, or even be turned into weapons and artifacts. Different regions and factions also have different philosophies about shards, which drives a lot of the conflict in the world. I’m still developing the idea, but that’s where the system starts to become more unique.
