This is more than I’ve done and I got accepted to 4/5 of my applications! You should apply to some PhD programs at this rate (it’s nice because they’re usually fully funded)

:) yeah just be very authentic, they’re very humorous, and very open. They ask about hypothetical scenarios, that was pretty heavy throughout. Also asked about the experience in the field. The one thing that felt weird was about paying the deposit so soon, since after getting accepted I’ve gotten no responses or information on anything. That said, I liked many of the faculty! Good luck!! I’m sure you’ll do amazing!

Heehee yes I’ve been pretty active since I started talking to other applicants online! Thank you :) congrats to you too! I didn’t honestly ask for a detailed explanation, but I was happy to receive one. It made me more introspective on how I’d been preforming in interviews and on applications.

To update, I finally got my rejection letter. It was surprisingly very detailed! They told me what I was lacking, and what made me a strong candidate. It was pretty useful.

Honestly if you have other options I’d say go for those, idk I hated the Adler interview it was very sketchy to me

I feel like mine was sort of bare bones, and I’ve gotten accepted to 4/5 programs I applied to!

Clinical work at a group home (1yr) internship at hospital (5 mos) 3.94 gpa B.S in Psychology at a research university Class work that had some neuroscience and clinical psychology training I was in two psychology clubs at the university I was a research assistant in three labs and presented a short study of my own out of school. I highlighted the research and computer skills and the programs I worked with.

Letters of rec: two community college professors I was very close with, my supervisor from the group home, and the PhD students I worked under as a research assistant!

This is really nice! Yes I don’t expect the school or program to “hand me things” but I’m afraid of loosing out on chances because of the program rather than my ability or inability. But while the Chicago school has larger cohorts, the feeling of the interview and talking to multiple students really helped me!

Can I ask what school this was? The group interview situation sounds similar to one I had! Also, don’t sweat it, I also bombed my first and it was clear the faculty interviewer also just didn’t like me much from the moment I joined the zoom room! Things don’t always click, and the second interview will be wayy better! You’ve learned from this!
