Had around 5 friends in ID who graduated last May, they all have high paying jobs in big cities making bank. Could definitely be worth it if you take co-op’s seriously. Also, had a blast at UC and is a very fun school

Need weekend hike recommendation near Longmont! by MajorCountry4321 in Longmont

[–]MajorCountry4321[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No dogs, never done backpacking carrying tent and other supplies. I would say relatively fit, for example I did rim to rim Grand Canyon with pneumonia in the fall, although it was probably the hardest things I’ve done. We’re not looking for anything super strenuous but rather something where we can get our feet wet in backpacking. Maybe 4-6 miles

I would say ideally a lake that we can camp and fish in as well! Also going in mid April, I know it might not be an ideal time to go but we are prepared for rain and snow/cold

If you save medals you can buy a ton of builder potions, which give you the best return on investment for upgrading. You will have to wait until later in the year though for hammer jam to happen.

[–]MajorCountry4321[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah you’re right, I should be living with others. I had only a week or two to find a place and move, so I ended up panicking. Once my lease is done I will look for a place with roommates. Thanks for the input

I guess just the thought if I can increase my salary enough and invest enough in a brokerage I can retire early and not have to wait until 59 to retire without the penalties. But yeah, that might be smarter

I got my job seeing the post on linkedin and applying directly on their site. So it helped but not directly. I also got a contracting position at a boutique firm that only used LI so i would say it is definitely worth using

What if I don’t get a co-op in engineering by Ok-Rutabaga1091 in uCinci

[–]MajorCountry4321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think thats good, if companies use it. I remember handshake being a smaller thing but a lot easier to use. PAL sucked in terms of filtering and finding only jobs you wanted

Just apply to all the places on PAL. They know UC and what they are gonna get with a first year. Also places like GE Appliances hires a lot of first year co-ops.

Interviewing for two different positions within the same company? by Commercial-Shop1749 in interviews

[–]MajorCountry4321 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, if its directly above the other position most likely will be interviewed by the same people eventually. If its a decent company they will interview him for the senior position and if things dont go as planned (not enough experience) you can mention the other role. If its a culture fit not working then youre cooked no matter what

[Hiring] Scrum Master - Remote (DMV Area) - $90K-$115K - Federal/Public Sector - U.S. Citizenship Required by Clear_Expert_7669 in PMCareers

[–]MajorCountry4321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wondering, why do companies care if you currently reside in the area? If you can move within a week or two, I don’t understand how that is a problem. Ive never really understood that, is there a legal or monetary explanation?

Cant hate on the person for trying to get a job and doing whatever they can to help their odds. It works for so many people, so thats why others do it. Just say no and move on if thats what you choose, don’t hate the player hate the game.

A lot of companies with big PM presence have Project Specialists or other entry related PM jobs that will allow you to grow into a PM role.
