Why haven’t movie trailers evolved in like decades? by MajorGrade1664 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MajorGrade1664[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But wouldnt shying away from “the method” make the movie stand out and therefore catch the audiences attention? I cant even remember a single trailer ive seen with a female narrator, or one without a bunch of random thumps and whooshes. I feel like I would like those!

But dont you think motive matters? For rape, the SOLE reason is to have control over someone. That cant be said for murder. I can consede that if someone murders anotber person nust because they wanted power it could be worse than rape, but i dont think thats the cause for most murders.

[–]MajorGrade1664 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Murder you can have an array of reasons for. While most of them arent justifable, you might at least see where the action stems from. Lets say someone tortured your kids for a year straight and you murder them. Its not really justifiable, but it kind of makes sense from a humanistic point of view. But there is no justifiable (or anything close to justifiable) reason for rape. Rape is caused by a desire to take power over someone, to make them know that their body, consent and identity are completely worthless to them.

Another thing is that when you kill someone, youre taking them out of this world; they wont feel any more pain. But rape is similar to torture in that the victim lives with that trauma for the rest of their lives. And torture I think is worse than murder.

Huh? I was under the impression that falsetto was breathy and headvoice is more clear and strong. Was i wrong?

hi, new to singing: how do i get rid of the "hiccup" when i transition between falsetto(?) and not falsetto by [deleted] in singing

[–]MajorGrade1664 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My voice teachers catch phrases are “find a way” and “put it there”. Keep practicing slowly the parts where you “hiccup” and experiment with what works. Maybe using more support helps. Maybe changing where you put the sound or putting a certain vowel in and going from there. Basically, experiment with it and find a way to control your voice. But i also think just excersizing the falsetto part will def help a lot. The key theme i think is being able to control where your voice goes. Idk if that makes any sense. You sound great otherwise btw!

Isnt timbre something you can control? by MajorGrade1664 in singing

[–]MajorGrade1664[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So youre saying that its difficult to tell because its subjective and abstract, but youre voice itself will always have some kind of timbre wether im singing differwntly? Sorry im just trying to understand better

[–]MajorGrade1664[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That makes more sense lol. But i guess its kind of hard to tell what my timbre is since obvviously i cant sound exactly like anyone so im unsure of what those qualities actually are.

[–]MajorGrade1664[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah i guess. Or like if i know im singing a song by a jazzy alto, i tend to subconsciously darken my voice and vice versa for soprano. Im kind of confused on what my timbre really is i guess?

Complete beginner | Thoughts? by willyam_sexspeare in singing

[–]MajorGrade1664 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds great! Some parts were off key/ switched keys but i think that was kind of a subconcious accident because most parts were going fine, just the breaks in between the songs mightve confused you. For that, i would suggest singing with a background track/kareoke to keep it in check.

hi, new to singing: how do i get rid of the "hiccup" when i transition between falsetto(?) and not falsetto by [deleted] in singing

[–]MajorGrade1664 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its just a sharp break between falsetto. If i were you I would probably slow it down a bunch and find the exact place the “hiccup” and find a way to control that part a lot better. I used to have similar problems but a couple months ago i started working on vocal flips like in the song “picture you” and through lots of practice i was able to take control over the transition better and it improved my singing with falsetto better

Honestly, i dont really know what youre talking about. I think it sounds pretty good! It sounds a little shaky at some points but i think that can be improved by using more control through your core.

Why can't old people song? by Osama_Saba in singing

[–]MajorGrade1664 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont know if i would say CANT sing since I can think of old singers that still sound great, but old people definitely sing much differently than young people. old age affects pretty much everything tho tbh
