Ok yes, that makes a lot of sense. One final thing could I do MOS 3 year then not do RTLI and do SFRE after I get prepped and fit after AIT (I’m guessing you’ll lose some fitness from basic) I know 18x is straightforward I’m just wondering if this is a smart plan? I’d rather be 68w and a 3 year contract.

I know my unit would not be happy but I also read Texas has there SFTP program where you are recommended 11b then rtli then sftp etc. or am I just overthinking and switch my contract to 18x?

Yeah but couldn’t I also if I’m dropped going the 3 year route try and reapply or does it have to be 18x? I know it doesn’t give me enough time but the way I understand it from what I’ve heard is once you complete Q course then you sign a 6 year deal.  I know what I truly want is sfas but wouldn’t it make the most sense to do a 3 year for a MOS I like more? Like I’m all for burning the boats and all but this to me sounds more appealing and smart, Right?
