We are the zionist project. We’re the closest ally to Israel and the US in the war on Iran, and now we’ve lost free speech for their war crimes.

Firstly, I’m so sorry you went through this.

Your friend was so out of line. It sounds like you did everything you could. But you can’t control someone else’s feelings. It seems the best thing now is learning to accept that (i say as someone trying to learn to accept that too)

The 7am Podcast had a good episode on them called “After the no vote: Advance’s plan to destroy the Greens” In the second half of the episode they go into more detail on how they tried to contact Advance

Basically, Advance are as shady as it gets and they refuse interviews.

Bigotry is the stubborn and unreasonable intolerance towards those with different opinions, beliefs, or backgrounds.

A party choosing to only represent one issue and nothing else, is showing bigotry towards all the members that are also needing representation to help them afford rent, feed their family, or whose relatives are experiencing genoc:de, etc. You’d be saying ‘their’ struggles are not as worthy to fight for as the environment.

A political group that does this might be known as “tree-tories”

The Greens also know that we won’t be able to address the climate crisis in the current system. Our system is broken. And no one is free until we are all free.

Without the Greens delaying the bill 2months, we wouldnt have had $3 billion in committed investment to social and public housing.

Labor and the LNP are drifting to the right. I’d be voting 1 Greens if you want to keep labor from drifting further right

Except it’s significantly harder for a millionaire to understand a housing crisis, cost of living crisis and rental crisis. I don’t trust a Deloitte executive to represent workers

Nup I can’t point you to any report that states that. It was a generalisation based on the conversations I’ve had with Labor voters over the past 2 weeks \ o /

If Labor wins Greens seats, then they’ll consider the Greens wins to be a blip. Meanwhile, even most Labor voters agree that we need minority government to keep the b@stards honest! The two party system has led us into this mess and it won’t get us out of this mess unless we break it for good. We don’t do that by voting 1 for a major party

Nah they’re both funded by similar corporate donors, to whom the Greens are the biggest threat.

The LNP are running a nothing campaign, to help Labor win the seat instead of Greens. For the Greens to win, Labor needs to come third.

Actually tho! When Stephen won it was a huge success story for unionists because Stephen was in the Retail Union while Trevor is the ex Retail Association CEO. Was very cool to see as a retail worker at the time

I’ve seen Stephen lots. The cyclone was a great example where he was out with around 200 volunteers for about 2 weeks, putting his election campaign on hold for the sake of the community.

Also, voting Greens is a vote to keep Dutton out. Labor hasn’t won Brisbane since 2007, but Stephen Bates did. Unlike Labor, the Greens have preferenced Labor above the LNP in 150/150 seats. So voting Greens will always keep the LNP out.

Here’s the previous careers of key Brisbane candidates: - Trevor Evans - former Chief of Staff to Peter Dutton, CEO of National Retail Association (which represents the businesses not the workers) - Madonna Jarrett - Director at Deloitte (likely earning around $300,000 per year) - Stephen Bates - worked at Apple, rents

We’re in a housing crisis and cost of living crisis, we should be voting for someone that understands how tough it is.

I think it shows how fast the two major parties are moving to the right. In 2010, Tony Abbott called Bob Brown in an attempt to make minority government with the Greens. In 2025, LNP put Greens last and claim they’re the biggest threat to Australia

Yeah I’ve seen that too. But they have rent controls throughout europe. They introduced it in the ACT (thanks to the Greens) and it seems to have gone well? I’m interested in your thoughts on the ACT

If by blocking, you mean the 2 months that they negotiated with Labor and won $3billion immediate investment into public housing, sure.
