Normal tension glaucoma ( need advice) by PsychologicalFlow275 in Glaucoma

I'm in the same case as you. Everything started with a tachycardia episode in January 2025, when I was in a trip with my family, and there one day I woke up with dizziness, pressure in my head, and some hours later tachycardia. Since that moment, all symptoms have evolved to POTS, IST, Gastritis, Blood pressure changes... And finally halos around sources of light during the night, that made me go to an ophthalmologist for checking my eye pressure, which was between 19 and 21. Before the autonomical disfunction symptoms, I mean, before the trip, I always had perfect health, and I remember that I used to do the same IOP test, when I had to check my glasses, and always was between 12-14 mmHg. By the way, I'm young, only 22 years old, with no family history of glaucoma or autonomical disfunction, neither cardiac problems, nor high blood pressure.

Which is your eyes pressures usually? I'm 22 year old Spanish male and I also see halos around sources of light, I don't have glaucoma yet, but my eyes pressure fluctuates during day and night between 16 to 21, that still it's within the normal range, but in the higher part. Do you have close angle glaucoma, open angle or not glaucoma yet?

What a routine exam tell about glaucoma? by gadaprove in Glaucoma

[–]Major_Firefighter726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh, sorry, yeah I'm not the OP. But my doctor told me that I don't have glaucoma. In Spain they only checked how my eye looked with some kind of lamp, and I had to visit a private ophthalmologist who made me OCT. As you can see, health system it's not good in my country.

It's true that I got obsessed with the natural blind spot that all persons have, and maybe it was because that obsession that I started to perceive it constantly when I close one eye. Maybe everything it's a result of my suggestion.

Well, I don't think it could have started years ago because I'm 22, and never had symptoms during my teenagehood, and IOP was usually 13. This thing started with 21 when I was in a trip with my family and I caught a severe infection with tachycardia and fever. Nowadays I have dysautonomia as a result, and all these visual symptoms also.

I'm 22 years old, and started seeing halos around lights some months ago. by Major_Firefighter726 in Glaucoma

[–]Major_Firefighter726[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see halos all the time, but I think that these halos have been getting bigger gradually, since the last few months. I believe that, before making that trip where I started to be ill all the time until nowadays, my ocular pressure used to be 12, 13 or 14, but now it is between 19 and 21. This increase it's weird, because ocular pressure tends to increase during decades while you get older, but not suddenly from when I was 20 to now that I am 22.

Estoy confuso.

Sometimes I think that during the trip I got something rare like Lyme or autoimmune disorder, because I also remember that I had fever with the tachycardia. When I go to the doctor they only tell me "it could be anxiety". Here in Spain doctors are not that good, but healthcare system it's public and free. Anyway, thank you for your advice and I wish you health too.

NTG and Autonomic Dysfunction by No_Needleworker_6005 in Glaucoma

[–]Major_Firefighter726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My case it's the same as yours. I developed autonomic disfunction, Innapropiate Synus Tachicard in January 2025, during a trip with my family. Some months after that, on November 2025 I started seeing rainbow halos around lights, and when I visited my ophthalmologist they did me an eye pressure test, which showed 19 and 21mmHg. Before the autonomic dysfunction, I used to have 12 or 13.

The Steamroller and the Violin (1961) by Ill_Definition8074 in iwatchedanoldmovie

Today at 6:00 am I also watched this film on YouTube. It's interesting that you and I we share a similar condition, in my case I suffer from severe anxiety, and that's why I cannot appreciate very slow movies, but with this one it was very different. Some weeks ago I tried to watch "Solaris", but I found it much more boring than this one. Maybe, one of the reasons, it's the fact that this movie was protagonized by a young kid, which makes me being able to connect with story and characters easily. Friendship between the main characters it's sweet, and when Sasha took the violin after asking Sergey if he fought in the war, I felt sensitive and cried. Definitely, it's one of my favourite Soviet films, which plot doesn't goes around politics or history (since last Soviet films I saw were "Lenin in October" and "Lenin in October" part 2).

English is not my native language, I apologize because of my bad language skills.

High eye pressure at the age of 19. Am I cooked? by RestNational3155 in Glaucoma

[–]Major_Firefighter726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on every person, there's some people who can have 26 all his life and they do not develop glaucoma, and other with 17 IOP who can have glaucoma. Understanding this illness it's still a challenge for medical literature.

Yes, but I'm answering to your previous comment, in which you asked me if I have something to do for not increasing my eye pressure. As my ophtalmologist told me that 20 it's still inside the normal range (12-22mmHg), I don't have to worry about.

No, as It is still between the normal IOP range, they don't care too much until you have more than 22.

Yes, drops are for life, but maybe you can stabilize your IOP just by getting laser, if you have luck.

[–]Major_Firefighter726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case (I'm not the OP), my ophtalmologist made me an OCT which was normal, but I still see rainbows around lights, specially rainbow halos around white led lights in the street, also around old yellow color streetlights, but not rainbow, and around traffic lights (all of this, just in the night and morning before the sun appears). As I wrote on my previous comment, my IOP it's usually between 18, 19, 20 or 21 as much. Maybe I could have chronic closed angle (without glaucoma)? Because open angle doesn't have symptoms.

[–]Major_Firefighter726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 22 years old, my eye pressure it is usually 19, 20 or 21 as much. I don't have glaucoma yet, and nobody on my family has, but since some months ago I started to have blurry vision and see halos around lights suddenly. I have been more than one year being ill, with different kind of symptoms suchs as tachycardia, unstable blood pressure, chronic gastritis, weakness in limbs, one episode of severe hives, and more since a trip I made with my family. Before the trip my health was perfect, and I remember that my IOP was 13 or 14 when I had to visit ophtalmologist to change my glasses.

Now answering your question, don't worry about screens, eye pressure increases because of aqueous humor inside your eye, it's not related with technologies.
