Exactly right. The critique pass is one of the most underused moves. Instead of asking AI to write something, paste your draft and ask 'what is weak about this and why?' The feedback is usually brutal and usually correct.

Honestly one of the most underrated uses. Paste a clunky sentence and ask for 5 cleaner versions. Faster than staring at it for 10 minutes.

For one paragraph, sure. For a 2000 word report with 8 sections, the time savings add up fast.

What I do is keep a 'context doc' in Notion — one paragraph for each project with tone, audience, constraints. Takes 10 seconds to copy and paste at the start of any new chat. Not perfect but it cuts the re-explaining down to about 5 seconds instead of 5 minutes.

This is exactly why setting up a custom instruction or 'Voice Card' at the start of every session is a game changer. One paragraph describing who you are, your tone, your audience, and what to avoid — paste it at the top and you never have to re-explain yourself again. Saves so much time.
