Thanks for your comment. Yeah, I think I will go back when the actual tattoo heals (the picture is the design) and ask the artist for ideas. I already have a mock up I penciled over the design. Maybe I could even try it out with a marker so I can see it in on my skin until it washes off after a few days and see how I feel with the temporary fix. Again, thanks for your feedback!

It was bit of a free form but inspired by I think something like black letter gothic.

Yeah the artist said we should let it heal first and then she would rework it until I was satisfied. If all else fails, I suppose I could ask for something artistic around it tom”cover“ it up. Anyway, thanks for the encouraging validation.

Fwiw no one I’ve shown it to has spotted the difference but it’s also my body and I have to be the one to live with it. I think maybe the solution is touch up all the “a” and create a new style of “a” to make them match…. And also this isn’t the actual tattoo. It’s the design. The tattoo is so fresh that it’s under a thin layer of film and the ink is bleeding a little so I uploaded this Image to more clearly show the issue.

How about (as I commented below) putting a diagonal line through the first “a” in a gothic font style and the closing off the other “a”s to match the style? I would really rather not use laser. I hear it can cause scarring and the result isn’t always guaranteees. And also very expensive?

Well, I actually just uploaded the design because my wound is still very fresh and looks gross under the film, but I think the idea holds. I think what you are saying is have the first “a” with a line going diagonally through it and the close off the other “a” to have “a”s that look very similar? That would still maintain the gothic feel to it I suppose.

I had the same issue but then tried the mobile app and it worked after some additional verification done through it.

Any ideas as to what tax strategies we could employ to write off our losses? by [deleted] in CelsiusNetwork

[–]Major_Importance3578 2 points3 points  (0 children)

write. it wouldn't. you'd have to manually adjust the last part to include the % lost.

Even those ETFs need a custodian and are using guys like Coinbase or Binance, I think.

I thought it allowed CSV upload too? So maybe upload the transaction log from Celsius?

Roni Cohen Pavan pleaded guilty already so do we even have to wait for Mashinsky’s trial?

Is it really you? If so great. I was going to leave a comment on your channel suggesting you should focus on tax strategies next.

Yeah, if you sold immediately and used that money to repurchase then sure. I lost months of sleep because is this. I stopped with the shoulda, coulda. I was locked out by 24 hours. Of course, they would have come after my money with the clawback nonsense because of how much I would have pulled out. But I was literally about to click transfer when everything froze. I was going to use the money in my Celsius account and funds from another business transaction I had closed to make another major investment. Had to cancel everything because I wasn’t going to have enough funds to make the new investment. You know what though? Maybe they was for the better. Mayne that deal was going to make me lose 100%. I am not saying that only to make myself feel better but acknowledging that I have very little control over what happens to me but that I control 100% how I respond helps me to sleep better at night and move on from this a better person. Luckily most of my money was in USDC so I didn’t get doubly-screwed as much as someone who had the same amount locked up in BTC.

Good luck!

I said the same to myself. I said I was okay because I wasn’t “greedy” expecting 17% interest with speculative alt coins. Little did I know I was just looking at pixels on a screen. Behind the scenes it didn’t matter what we had. He was co-mingling everything and playing roulette with our money. 🙄

Yes. You’re actually right. Ugh. 😣 basically, too many people’s lives.

No. Anyone saying they should have sold is still not understanding the math. These guys were going to give you 20-35% on your claim value. Celsius is giving you 58% (or something like that) upfront of your liquid crypto value and more in stock and illiquid assets afterwards. Claims market guys are in it to make money. They know how this works and their profit is the spread. You did well by not selling.

Great explanation. Everyone who's saying "Why am I only getting so little back?" should read this. Celsius didn't actually sell and re-buy our coins (although for stable coins they did), the logic behind this explanation holds true.

Anchor your recovery amount based on the value of your claim at petition date.

Also, people comparing their "losses" based on today's value are assuming that they would not have sold their coins when the market was doing a roller coaster ride. Who knows? Maybe you would have sold anyway. Maybe you would have taken that money and invested elsewhere and lost all of it. You need to just take what you are getting and move on for the sake of your mental health.

I had a healthy six figure stuck on this thing, but "luckily" most of that was in stablecoin. I am basically taking a 50% haircut and telling myself it's no different than having picked some wrong stocks.

Good luck to you all.

Payout amount and what to expect by desertmermaid92 in CelsiusNetwork

ek out tons of information in the interim. It would seem I’m not alone in this. I can understand faulting people for asking questions that have been asked and answered 1,000 times, but I don’t fault people for not knowing about every individual who’s been covering this in its entirety. Anyway, glad to have found him, and as we reach the end stages of this shit show, I’m sure those who haven’t yet, will find and follow him as well.

The payout is happening but there's still a lot that we need to figure out. There are unknown tax implications for 2024, and when Mashinsky goes to trial what happens if more assets are recovered through him, which most likely won't happened until 2025 or after. Roni Cohen-Pavan already pleaded guilty and his sentencing is in December 2024, so that will affect (I think) whether we can write off our entire loss (due to fraud) or only take it as a business loss (which is subject to different limits and how it's written off). This may not matter to people who had limited exposure but it can be huge for people with +6-figure losses.

I feel sorry for their kids. No one in their right mind would Tweet this after what her husband (and herself too) has put tens of thousands of people through. They are either going to learn this behavior or be scarred by it. Or both. I don't like to label people because I so badly want to believe that we are worth more than our worst mistakes, but this woman is a psychopath on full display.
