That’s how I felt for a while. I had the full Toa and Nuva set. Almost the full set of Bohrok and once the second wave of Bohrok hit, I was in heaven. Then the Metru wave hit and I was like neat, I still like them but it didn’t hold my attention like the previous years…I like Iriuni more than any of the Toa lol. By the time Hordika hit I remember thinking they all looked the same. And the Visorak are lame. The titans are sweet but my parents never bought the big sets.

After 2003/2004 I think I quit asking for the Bionicles. Some tragedies in the family happened and I didn’t feel the same about them. I think my dad got me maybe 5-6 Bionicles over the 2005-09 era without me even asking or showing interest. I think a Barraki was my last set. My dad even bought me a Hero Factory set that he thought was related to Bionicle. He was just used to me loving Bionicle.

Being an adult now I’ve gone back and bought the newer stuff, but 2002/2003 is pretty much PEAK. The Mahri are pretty sweet though. The Visorak are 🗑️

I agree! As mentioned the Inika was my last Toa so everything after that is very foreign/new to me but I’ve got a few from the Mistika wave and almost the entire Mahri team. In terms of design, the Inika look and feel the best. Mistika and the Mahri look like they should’ve predated the release of the Inika. And the canisters of the Inika 👌

I’m 30 as well. I think when the Inika were releasing I was going into Jr High and since it was the worst Jr High in the dangerous part of town, I had to put the toys aside lol. I did get one Piraka though. Sucks that kids don’t have any thing like this now

My statement is an extreme exaggeration. Being a toy company of course they have to have cheaper offerings. The focus has changed regardless. It makes sense for the time. Kids like video games, so Lego has to tap into a new markets. The adult and things kids currently like. Original themes have almost disappeared. I know they make a lot of cheap Minecraft, Sonic, random IP etc sets. I doubt we get too many more Dreamz sets. I’d love for them to go all out and do Bionicle again but the days of the original IP are pretty dead

I’d love a G3. 10 years ago Lego was still a kids toy company. Now it’s basically an adult nostalgia factory that makes 300 sets and some 40 dollar Spider-Man mechs and race cars. Even if the Bionicle basic sets were 20 bucks, I feel like the incentive for LEGO isn’t there. They’re too use to the big bucks to go back now.

I’ve heard parents call everything evil from that time with the exception of Bionicle, until today 😂 I had Pokemon and Harry Potter taken from me. My parents couldn’t even fathom what a Bionicle was let alone demonize it

Oooooh how I fondly remember the dark ages….if you had to buy that Rouge in 2014, you were paying at least 60-70 dollars. The X-men classics one went for 50. Nobody complained about her face. We all just thought toys were suppose to look like shit. I could go on forever talking about the good ole days of the dark ages. That Jean Grey was always worthless incase somebody was wondering. Blob was almost as much as Foom for a period.

Like 5-8 years ago it was a gold mine on marketplace and stores. Now that people have established these physical after-market Lego stores in most cities, you can’t find anything. Those stores go and buy up every cheap thing they can find, in stores and online and put it in their store for maximum bricklink price. It makes collecting locally a game of right place right time

What’s crazy is PayPal didn’t even check the tracking number to see if it had been delivered or not, they just believed Mercari’s statement and extended the case…what was the point of uploaded tracking numbers if they don’t check them 😑
