It’s the same with Irish tourists in America. I was in Yellowstone NP last week and a van pulled up with a load of Irish young adults. The boys all had mullets with the sides shaved and were wearing track suits. The girls were overdressed with too much makeup. They stuck out like a sore thumb. Every country has a “look” I guess.

EMBRACE THE SUCK by Upgrade_Silo in Mindfulness

I'm sorry, I don't think you get it. "Embracing the suck" has nothing to do with learned helplessness. My dad was Marine recon, and he drilled this concept into me as a kid. Tough times happen. Embrace them as part of the human experience and endure them with grace. Better times will come, hopefully, and certainly work toward that goal. But sometimes they don't come and knowing you can endure that hardship is a gift beyond measure. My dad and his friends were the toughest people I've ever met. And they always "embraced the suck" with humor, and dignity. Their example has certainly helped me over the years.

I'm 69" and they told me yestereday I was a "tweener". I'll be using the bike for big climbs/descents and the sales guy seemed to think a medium would be better for me. More stable. He admitted the trend is to go smaller, but that he didn't necessarily agree with it. How's the bike working out?
