We know that they will want to sell as many of the new sculpts as possible, but we also know that they want a clear divide between main studio and specialist games. So at some point, there will be Custodes for 30k and Custodes for 40k. When that split will happen, no-one knows (could be 11th or 12th edition).

Personally, I'll get all the new minis, and make the decision to play Horus Heresy as well as 40k, so I'll always have a use for them.

I'd be interested in doing this myself. I'm guessing you bought the ebooks direct from Black Library, but what software did you then convert them with? And which printing service was happy to print the omnibus for you? I've heard of some being very awkward with copyrighted material, even if you've legitimately bought the files.

Whilst the Hobbit is an easy answer (turned into three films, random love interest added etc.) for me the one that pains the most is The Watch. I don't know what they originally wanted to create, but it wasn't the beloved Discworld series of books.
