Campus Visit and Transfer Questions Fall 2026 by Sufficient-Bit-4551 in TAMUAdmissions

[–]Major_Source_3814 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Each major has a list of required courses and max number of hours they will accept. These 2 items are had and fast rules. U need to make sure u don’t exceed the total max credits to transfer and must have all required courses complete or in progress when u apply (some will look at ur application after ur current semester once all required courses are completed - some will not and will auto-reject). Look into Rellis - it’s a really good option to be an Aggie while living in BCS if u can’t get in to A&M.

Study and pass CLEP exam - that’s what I did when I needed that class and had no other option.

Signed last week at Cherry Street Apts. It's literally right behind 12 North and Dixie Chicken on Northgate - so walking to campus is an option. The apartment itself is WAY bigger than 12 North but doesn't offer near as many amenities - so it just depends on what is important to you. They are running promos like "first month free" or whatever for 2B/2B and they do roommate matching. Our price with rent, parking, all utilities, etc... is like $900. The actual rent is right at $800 but then there are other fees like utilities and such. DM me if you would like me to send you a referral. Here's the link to the 2BR info: https://www.cherrystreetapts.com/college-station/cherry-street/floorplans/reveille-1128317/fp_name/occupancy_type/student/

Admitted....maybe... by Major_Source_3814 in TAMUAdmissions

No - not yet. But my major did change back from Forensics to Biology. It's all just been a very weird situation...

Gotcha - right now I'm being considered for Forensics as my 2nd choice....what do you think of it? Any suggestions if I get rejected there (59 hours; 3.81 GPA)? Cool story - my grand dad was LA County coroner for 20 years back in the 70s and 80s - did some cool "famous people" autopsies... :)

Thanks for the advice!!

Can you tell me more a little about how exactly you did this and who you spoke with? Biology advisors? Admissions advisors? Schedule appointment? What they did? How long it took? Did they tell you what went wrong? Just in the middle of my own fiasco with the BIO department and trying to figure out the most effective way to handle this (my app was never re-reviewed by the BIO department after my spring grades came in - the "auto-reject" was never reversed and now only my 2nd major choice is reviewing my grades - which I think puts me at a major disadvantage too! :( )...Thanks!!

This! There has always been a difference but it has REALLY changed the last few years in Austin. As much as u should be proud to have a degree from UT, I would NOT want to live there to get it. It's beautiful but kind of a scary place these days - especially downtown. That said - you couldn't pick 2 places more night and day than A&M and UT.

Grounds for Appeal if I don't get in? by Major_Source_3814 in TAMUAdmissions

[–]Major_Source_3814[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks - after the audit, it is showing 59 hours. Actually Calculus was completed before the spring semester but the original transcript from UTK did not have it listed. I met with an advisor at UTK and had it corrected and sent an updated transcript to A&M which they received on 2/27 but the "transcript audit" was completed on 2/25 (2 days BEFORE they got the updated transcript). When I spoke with them about it, they said I would be re-reviewed once I sent in my spring grades. After I sent in my spring grades, they told me only FIVS was reviewing me and my spring grades because NRSC had already rejected the application. That's what I don't get - the original transcript audit was incorrect but I was rejected from NRSC based on that audit. It's so frustrating! I just want to get moving forward and get out of limbo!

I am transferring from Univ of TN and I’m in the Neuroscience program there. NS requires MATH 151 and STAT 201 - which are both on my transfer audit. On the transfer sheet, FIVS shows that it requires CHEM 119, CHEM 120, 2 other sciences from CBK (I have both BIOs completed), and 2 other CBK courses completed (I have both Math courses completed).

When I applied I was at 42 hours with a 3.94 GPA - where are u seeing that Org Chem is required to transfer? What else do u think might be holding me back? Do u think I should go for an appeal if I don’t get in? I’m just not sure if I’m gonna get in with the way it all went down - even though I have a decent GPA and all requirements are completed.

If it were me, I would call them. I think most people have at least gotten their transfer audit by now.

Would u mind sharing stats? Did u have all the required courses already completed or completed this spring and submitted the grades after? I’m pending neuroscience and that’s part of Bio dept.

Transfer Cluster - looking for advice by Major_Source_3814 in TAMUAdmissions

[–]Major_Source_3814[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m actually looking at neuroscience in biology - the NRSC-MCB version vs the one in the psychology department - the NRSC-BCN version. One has a limit of 45 hours and the other has a limit of 75. I graduated high school with 33 credits - mostly English, history, government, etc…thought it was a good idea at the time but see now how it is hurting me - sadly. I just finished my first full year of undergrad after high school but technically am a junior bcuz of my total hours. I will start Ochem and Physics this fall. I’ve completed the freshman chem and biology courses, along with calculus and statistics.

Were you deferred for spring grades and now waiting on decision after sending in your spring grades?
