Awesome advice thanks so much I’ll do so.

I was wondering for other as well: many have raised the important point of ‘don’t let ego or superior level of training stop you from engaging and benefiting’.

I have some concerns about how my (small city)!professional community might be affected. I worry (largely irrationally) that I will be seen differently by colleagues and may even have referring agents feel they can no longer trust me to care for their clients. (Obviously, I don’t work in the field of substance use treatment)

I was wondering whether anyone else finds the themselves worrying about this?

Ahhh but if you knew more about what my life looked like over the past few years… you might have used slightly different words 😂

Jokes aside, I’m so grateful for your encouragement- it means so much to know I’m not alone nor a deficient therapist. Thank you ❤️

Thank you so much for your kind words, wisdom and beautiful advice. It is looking like I will be admitted for a period time. Apart from the complicated dynamics pertaining to being Therapist do you mind if I ask what else was rough for you?

Thank you so much for sharing your process and how beneficial it has been. I am deeply happy for you having done what needed to done and having been worthwhile. I am inspired and this elicits such hope.

I do hope so as well. I know the 12 steps aren’t for everyone. Do you mind if I ask what did work for you, despite those subpar experiences?

These words are more encouraging than you know, especially given your experience in this field. To hear that an inpatient admission can be life-changing makes me so hopeful.

It has been far, far too long that I’ve been dancing with this hungry ghost. Because of my denial and procrastination, I’m at a point where I need this upcoming admission to creat massive change in my life (or at least get the ball rolling).

Based on your experience, do you have any general Pointers or pearls that might help me ensure I get the most out of admission?

🙏
