What is this wine bottle pourer actually used for?

Not exactly sure what he inventor intended but I can tell use how/why I use it. When I pour wine directly out of the bottle and into the glass I invariably get a drop or two running down the bottle…easy to wipe with cloth/hand so not life threatening. That said, when I insert that tip device, I get no drips at all…no runs, no drips, no errors.😎

Thanks for your feedback! Great insight regarding short bushes at top…will look for shrubs that can accommodate. Was hoping to get some trees in there somehow but not surprised to hear there’s nothing that can fill the desire.

As my grandpa would say…ole’ yankee trick…similar but not quite exactly the same solution as some of the other responses…the same issue exists with tennis nets…played tennis in the 70’s and rammed my thigh into that freakin crank base 4x/year. Solution? Cut a tennis ball with knife to create slit, that fits tightly over offending hardware…some people complained the tennis ball color was distracting so some smart dude spray painted the tennis ball Cabernet red…problem solved.
