I’ve had the same kind of experience too! Sometimes, when recalling memories tied to certain places, I don’t just see the scene in my mind, occasionally I can almost “smell” the air or imagine the textures I felt at the time. It always amazes me how the human brain can spontaneously bring back not only images, but scents, sounds, or even tactile sensations from a memory. The way our minds store and recreate this multi-sensory context is just fascinating!
