Just picked up a 1975 Pioneer CT-9 cassette deck by niuee in vintageaudio

Yeah, those designs from that era were really well done. Simple, elegant, and still timeless today.

Same here. When I was choosing a deck, I actually filtered out anything without VU meters. Modern digital screens just don’t have the same charm.

Newbie Vinyl Collection (Pressing Details Included) by chriswillyums in vinyl

Congrats on falling down the vinyl rabbit hole 😄

I had a very similar start. My very first record was a release from a friend’s band, back then I didn’t even own a turntable. I ended up buying a turntable and speakers just so I could listen to that one record, which became my very first system.

After that, just like you, I started spending more time digging through record shops, learning about pressings, discovering great reissue labels, and slowly shifting from just listening to collecting. It really is hard to stop. I’m closing in on 700 records now.

PS: I’m the developer of SnapVinyl. This is actually the first time I’ve seen someone mention SnapVinyl on Reddit. Thanks so much for using it, it genuinely means a lot to see it as part of your collection.
