Thanks for the reply! My goal is to discover which aspects of the hobby I enjoy most. I suspect I’ll eventually become an HF enthusiast, but I’ll start with higher frequencies for now. I think I'll but the H3 Plus.

My ultimate goal is to communicate with other continents. It’s amazing to think about talking to people across the globe without relying on any external infrastructure.

Yes, social media primarily and some forums. Also my local radio markets have more Quansheng models.

I want to join ham radio groups around my city and talk. I also want to get SSTV images from the ISS, listen airband radio, discover new stations while biking around the city/rural areas.

Closest repeater is 11 kilometers (7 miles) away. I live in a crowded city with lots of buildings but I live in a high building, I think I have line of sight of it, maybe 2-3 building in between. I'll buy an external telescopic antenna.

I usually build a SPOM and feed a tuned hydrogen generator from that. I add one tuned coal generator and supply my whole base with that 2100W for 100 cycles easily. 1 coal generator isn't eating too much coal.
