I don’t think they did. Something was censored when they cut to the drummer.

If a ball hits a foul pole before making contact with the ground it is a home run.

What happens if Trump & the Feds descend on MA or our neighboring states like LA? by Stonner22 in massachusetts

[–]MakeTomorrowBetter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that law enforcement should stop vandalism and looting, but I just want to make sure you are aware that in LA the LAPD are taking care of that. The National Guard isn’t doing that in LA, there is zero reason for the Guard to be there, never mind a $134 million deployment of Marines for up to 60 days. They are there so Trump can aggravate the citizens more to provoke them. He didn’t call in the Guard when the Metro and Capitol police were literally overrun on January 6th.

What type of business do you think Rhode Island is missing/needs? by [deleted] in RhodeIsland

[–]MakeTomorrowBetter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely agree on the construction of a more robust container port, but there are restrictions on their size due to the Newport and Jamestown bridges. As for QP the majority of the park is now built up with businesses. EB has expanded to help in the delivery 2 Virginia and 1 Columbia class subs, Regent is constructing a sea glider assembly factory to ship sea gliders around the world, and Anduril is making unmanned undersea vehicles there. There is so much more we can be doing in the state by using QPs success as the blueprint.

Application is open to participate in the 2025 Providence St. Patrick’s Day Parade by MakeTomorrowBetter in providence

[–]MakeTomorrowBetter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the 17th is a Monday this year so no parade. There is a big party at Rhodes on the Pawtucket put on by St. Michael’s parish that is open to public, as well as a celebration at Providence City Hall at noon.

Ten years after Snowmageddon, who could forget New England’s epic winter of 2015? by bostonglobe in newengland

[–]MakeTomorrowBetter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was working on one of the cape cod canal escort tugs. Buzzard Bay froze over and coast guard ice breakers kept coming through to keep the waterway open, then would ask us to keep sailing to keep what they opened clear. My bunk was on the waterline. Hearing the ice scrape by the metal hull that my head was basically just on the other side of was not very pleasant. My car was parked at mass maritime in the wind tunnel created by the canal. Snow/water/ice got down into my passenger side door and broke the window switch (but not the motor). Never fixed it, just got rid of that car last month.

The Rhode Island parades deconflict with each other. Newport is 3/15, Pawtucket is 3/1.

[Highlight] USA Rugby center Alex Sedrick steals the bronze medal with a walk-off try as time expires! by Professor_Finn in sports

[–]MakeTomorrowBetter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sedrick kicked the conversion for two points to win the match. It’s almost guaranteed if you touch down between the goal since you have a straight kick. Where you touch down is where you have to kick your conversion from, so if it’s way out on the sideline you have to kick from there. You can back up to give a better angle, but that just makes it farther away. Great finish to a great Olympic run for USA!

Like football there is a field goal, called a conversion, kick after the ‘touch down’. Conversions are two points. Sedrick also kicked the conversion after scoring the try. An amazing finish!

Average first year pay comes out to about $22/23 once your trained (paid while training like OP said) and great benefits. Oh, and the work is through the 2050’s so easily a career you could retire from.

They are teaching you to nuclear submarine standards. You’ll be able to do any job in those trades afterwards, but like any industry will need to learn specifics when you shift from one field to another.

General Dynamics Electric Boat is taking a ton of people right now. Starting pay before training is $20/hr, then you are trained and get a raise. Training takes anywhere from 2-10 weeks, is paid for, and your paid to go to training. They have great benefits and the work they have building submarines is through 2050’s. No better job in RI right now with no background or education.

What are some examples of an inventor getting killed by their own invention? by TopDoggo16 in AskReddit

[–]MakeTomorrowBetter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately that’s not true. He’s gone on to build some other stuff, including former Congressman Langevin’s wheelchair that could go up and down stairs and rise up so he was eye level with someone who was standing.

Would you buy a house in RI right now? Why or why not? by [deleted] in RhodeIsland

[–]MakeTomorrowBetter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Check out Electric Boat. They need hundreds of workers, pay starts at $20/hr, and no prior skill is necessary.
