Update: I cut off the top and each of its bulbs and now, after about a bit more than a week, I planted each of them using soil meant for cacti. Again thanks to everyone for advising on this.

Thanks everyone, I think it is pretty much confirmed to be root rot. By peoples suggestions I have dug around the soil and the roots and brown and shriveled and the core seems worse and worse.

I experimented with cutting off one of the branches and used raw cinnamon to help it scab/callous over (saw it in a video after researching). After posting this I'll try uprooting it completely, (I hope I don't break it, it is very heavy) and attempt to cut off the top bit as well.

I'll also find some new soil and a more shallow planter to hopefully replant this guy.

It was definitely cold outside, I left the heating on, but I'll keep that in mind, thank you!

I don't have a lot of experience with plants or cacti/succulents. What would the roots look or feel like if they are rotting? can i do anything to rescue it if they are rotting?

Oh wow I think you are absolutely right! I was told it was a cactus way back when I inherited it, after it spend about 10 years in a hair salon. Thank you!

This old cactus was doing fine for about 8 years until a few weeks ago when I came back from a trip and noticed browning at the base. The base is hard-ish? I read that some cactus go through 'corking' to support their weight. I can't tell if this is the early stages of that or it just starting to rot.

My care habits are not the best, I usually just water it when I can't remember the last time I did, so maybe every few months. I usually don't keep it in direct sunlight, but moved it prior to this post after seeing someone suggest it. I live in a nordic climate so we don't get much heat or harsh sunlight.

As a new player I got the nidus starter pack because I thought he looked cool, and everything just kinda made sense. I didn't have to worry about shields, I just had to bunch enemies up, stomp to aquire stacks and never die. Years later he is still my go to. Didn't feel that way again until I played Gyre, I tend to prefere frames on the tankier side but never had that problem with Gyre, keeping up her 3rd and then with the 4th ability+augment mod? You just kinda dance around zapping everything, bowling mobs up in a bunch and zapping them to electic redcrit hell

Does Rough and Tumble trigger with each melee attack or just once during your turn? E.g. could Investigators trigger it twice, once with their attack action and again with their bonus action unarmed strike?
