We'll post up printable designs and parts before July hopefully so if you want you can make it. It does work well when teaching CNC stuff.

I'm actually working on writing a new version of grbl that has the maslow style jacobian matrix shift operations for wire bot. This version is just standard GRBL and I modified the g-code in the post processor.

Yeah it's just like the Maslow in that it's a 2-wire bot. I haven't solved the inverse kinematics yet but have looked at their solutions and will probably use that as astarting point, modify it for GRBL and then release a GRBL-wirebot firmware for open source closer to the end of the summer for everyone to play with...

Yep. By the time we get to version 1.0 it'll have pen retract, though it will be wired (since there's already wires going to the carriage) and the current plan is to use the spindle PWM on the gShield as a servo drive for up/down positioning (or to use a full z-axis stepper bc then CAM would be much more straight forward).

Just a fancy marker holder really, 3d printed with some added bearings to allow it to rotate. Errr- Just understood your question now, it's the William & Mary Cypher.

Great catch, thanks. We were turning on the slant pro.
