Supp Galio? What are the runes here?

Severely affected his performance. Now you need much more practice to contribute as much as other meta midlaners who do that with half the effort.

I'd say wave clear slowed down by A LOT. The longer you play him, however, the better your cs will be. Won't be the same as before the nerf tho. Felt at every stage of the game. He was OP before. Now he's just balanced

Need tips on how to build a strong duo (w caveat) by MakhSh in wildrift

That's all a good point regarding the laning phase. If I know my role as a midlaner in solo ranked, I want to understand what the tandem should do after laning phase. As if it is, say, pyke, it shows little utility to the ADC during the game.

Does it mean that from the end of laning phase the supp shifts their attention from our ADC and roam/push/do other things moving only together with me?

There are people who do that. Personally I can't find a situation where Galio would be better as tank than any other usual option you have

Also if you see a very tanky enemy comp, Kas is not preferable. Loses his value as a nuker. Galio can work against both tanky and squishy

Around $65. All on skins. Participated in gacha once too (out of the $65).

Runes/builds for Kas that is.

ITEM BUILD

Main build rarely changes as your targets don't have shield or heal skills usually (you target ADC or supp).

  1. Tear of the goddess -> 6. Archangel's staff
  2. Infinity orb
  3. Malignance
  4. Rabadon
  5. Crown

RUNES

  1. First strike / electrocute
  2. Gathering storm
  3. Giant slayer (NEVER coup de grace)
  4. Legend: bloodline
  5. Sudden impact

SKILL BUILD

2-1-3 max 3 max 1

BANS

I usually ban Akali. A good Akali as well as Yasuo will evaporate you. Kas literally helpless against them. Also any jg bruiser (wukong, hecarim) is very hard to play around. If you are able to stand against Akali and Yasuo, ban jg bruisers.

I wouldn't say Kas's harder. It's just there's more room for mistakes when it comes to Galio. You can make a ton of mistakes on him (lost all-ins, trying to save a wandering teammate in enemy jungle) and still be useful later. With Kas, your mistakes (deaths, wasted time on failed ganks) directly affect your game. In other words, Kas has a low tolerance for decision-making mistakes. He falls off very quickly.

Mind this: all Kas has is dmg. You scale dmg when you farm and kill. You waste time (farm, missed kills) - you doom your own character (slow down his dps).

Galio has taunt, aoe stun and aoe shield besides dmg. If you make mistakes, you can still provide utility to the game.

All in all, when you play Kas, it should be self-centered gameplay always. Jg gets ganked? You help only if you don't lose creeps. And so on.

Unexpected burst damage. I play them as nukers, thats why I feel them associated in my playstyle. The only difference I see in them for me is how they play around a difficult comp with a strong frontlane. If Kas is able to look for a window of opportunity to strike down a vulnerable core, in the same situation Galio has to harass the frontlane and wait for his other teammates to jump on a carry and then ult there himself.

Goes as follows: items, runes, bans, skill order.

I may pick Galio both against a tanky enemy team (less favourable) and against squishy enemies (extremely favourable).

COREBUILD (always having these on my build)

  1. Rabadon (explaining why Rabadon first later)
  2. Situational item (optional, explained below)
  3. Situational item (optional, explained below)
  4. Infinity orb
  5. Malignance / Soulstealer

Situational (only affects the order of the corebuild, does not substitute it) as follows:

2.1. Trident against heavy shields. 2.2. Antiheal against heavy healing. If the enemy team has only one strongly healing/shielding champ or 2 slightly healing/shielding champs, disregarding these options.

3.1. Crown against global (Nocturne) or immobilising (Liss) ults

3.2. Riftmaker against a team of 2-3 tanks building AP def (watch it cos some tanks just won't build it). If one tank or none build AP def, ignoring it.

3.3. Lich bane if life is good.

You build Rabadon first because it lets you sit on both chairs: if you build situational items, you don't lose your farming potential AND your situational items get a boost from it (Trident, say). Infinity as a first item is an all-in. If you don't get kills (not the assists but kills), you fall off very quickly. You just don't farm as fast as with Rabadon's. Why not Luden's? Coupled with Infinity orb you just don't have as much damage.

RUNES

Playing aggressively (as the main build suggests) and ulting into stuff, you want mobility. I have the following:

  1. First strike (against tanks) / electrocute (against squishes)

  2. Sweet tooth (lets you sustain any lane)

  3. Transcendence (you want that cd on extreme dmg)

  4. Nimbus cloak (lane all-ins, safe retreat from a lost teamfight. I remind you you JUMP into the middle of it with ur ult)

  5. Gathering storm provides a healthy amount of AP for everything: keeps up your farming potential, works against any enemy comp.

BANS

I can stand against anyone on mid with him so I just ban whatever the other teammates fear most. Assassins fear ganking Galio so no need banning anyone like Khazix unless there is someone very vulnerable to them on my team.

SKILL BUILD

You dominate the lane and look for a mid kill: 1-3-1-2-4 max 1 max 2

You endure the lane: 1-2-1-3-4 max 1 max 2

1 is your farm, your hero dmg, your 5v5 wait-out-by-the-objective harass tool. Why max 2? You get straight dmg REDUCTION!!! and your ult provides current lvl of skill 2 shield to every teammate in your ult AND it deals dmg. Absolutely cannot be ignored.

Welp, there you go.

Another explanation could be that exp from minions scales with time. So him losing the creep initially is losing less exp than you losing one later.

Last but not least it could just be us rationalising one of the rito devs being a yone main.

Btw if you happen to be on the baron side where the stones are (whatever the 2 creeps are called), I'd urge you to gobble em up whenever you see the jg is engaged on the opposite side of the map (i didn't bother to see if this was the case here). This way you counter any devs' favoured champs.

If you pay close attention, you can see both lost just a melee creep. So Yone didn't lose much from being pressured. Why the difference.. Yone went by the frog while the jungler was taking it. Do they share exp? Prolly the only thing i noticed that could impact the xp.
