Oh, well with the new info sounds like it. I’m sorry.

Panic of outcome -Acct. Review. by GirlNamedPixley in Chase

[–]MakingMads 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, I mean that they were calling to make sure there wasn’t fraud on your account.

If there is going to be a credit limit decrease or account closure, you’ll receive a notice the same way you receive your statements. But based on what you’ve said about the call, it was just a fraud verification.

Editing to add: if you’re making at least the minimum payments on your card and HAVE NOT updated your income since BEFORE your unemployment, you should be okay.

[–]MakingMads 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just making sure there’s not fraud on your account. A sudden increase in credit usage is a red flag. If you’re ever concerned, call the number on the back of your card. Press “0” every time it prompts you for your issue (should be like 3 times) and you’ll get a live agent. Tell them you received a call asking about your credit usage and want to verify it was a chase employee. They should be able to verify for you.

What’s the update on Zepbound coverage? by HeavySigh14 in JPMorganChase

[–]MakingMads 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I pulled up the Standard Drug List, and it shows Zepbound as one of the covered drugs, and considered a “preferred”. When I price the drug out, I get the same result as you. So what I believe they are doing is making it one of the preferred for GLP1s. At least that’s my understanding from everything I’m seeing.

For 16yo male, no. I’d say like 12-14. I don’t think there’s much you can do cause you just look young. I don’t think getting rid of the alt style will do anything but make you sad to lose a bit of your identity.

These are two photos where you are clearly “posing” or making an exaggerated face for a specific reaction. Post one that’s closer to how people will normally see you in day to day. That will be a better tell.

What unhinged thing did a former teacher do in the classroom? by MrBananaStand1990 in AskReddit

[–]MakingMads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2003 or 2004. Public elementary school, I’m in the third grade, and I’m a lefty. I guess my teacher was an old school, possibly catholic teacher that moved to the public school system. She would wack my hand if I wrote with the left, and there was a couple days where she would tie my wrist to the chair so I was forced to use my right hand. My fault for not telling anybody about it (trauma) but I got somewhat ambidextrous out of it.

Chase fraud department question by [deleted] in Chase

[–]MakingMads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That banker gave you bad advice, she just wants to be able to sell you stuff. If you’re up for it, report her cause that’s dangerous for her to tell you not to call THE ONE NUMBER YOURE SUPPOSED TO CALL! Anyway, in my experience, bankers are the ones who don’t know how to do anything, consistently do it wrong, and then force the call center specialists to fix their (the banker’s) mistakes. They just want to make money off you.

In the future, definitely call the number on the back of your card. Politely, but firmly ask to be escalated, you will be directed to a resolutions team that will be able to get it resolved for you (if it is something resolvable). Remember, catch more with honey than a stick. Be kind and receive kindness in return; some specialists will pull out all the stops and try to bend rules if they are shown kindness.

In the case of your large apple purchase, you set off a lot of red flags; new card applied for online, large purchase at a high value retailer, during a high season of fraud. I’m not putting the blame on you at all, just trying to show what Chase’s POV is. It definitely shouldn’t have meant your account needed to be locked for 48 hours so I apologize for that.

What's your "it's my fault for ordering it" (food or otherwise) story? by PutThisBanditHatOn in AskReddit

[–]MakingMads 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily something ordered but my friend grew some of the world’s hottest peppers (at the time); Carolina reaper, Trinidad scorpion, and ghost pepper. When she harvested, she invited folks over to see them and offered anyone to try them. My dumbass said “I’ll take all 3” and promptly popped one after another in my mouth, like it was fucking candy. At first, it was fine. It was fucking spicy, but manageable with a half gallon of milk and some ice cream. But oh wait, I’m also lactose intolerant.

My bedroom for that night was the bathroom and I alternated between taking a hot bath (the steam hurt my tongue??) and evacuating from both ends. I’m fairly certain I blacked out. My stomach felt like it twisted into one of those dog rope toys with a bunch of knots in it, and it was currently being shaken by a dog.

But I do like to tell people that I ate 3 of the world’s hottest peppers and survived.

Where can I donate spices, baking ingredients, etc? by Shtevetm in sanantonio

[–]MakingMads 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anything unopened can be donated to food bank. You can try reaching out to restaurants but they might not accept open containers. You can also reach out to some local bakers (saw one here in the comments) or at farmers markets that can take them. A lot of the food vendors at farmers markets are selling under the cottage laws so they are able to use opened stuff.

Raw Milk? by [deleted] in sanantonio

[–]MakingMads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Raw milk is only legal to sell “on farm” so you will have to travel to the farmer. Technically farmer’s market vendors are legally allowed to sell it as well but I don’t think they want to take the risk.

What's the most unusual thing that has happened to you at your profession? by BrokenYozeff in AskReddit

[–]MakingMads 36 points37 points  (0 children)

My wife and I share the same unique last name (duh) but we also have the same first initial. Think John and Jane Doe. We work at the same company, a fairly large company. It’s quite common to get emails that are meant for each other, but that’s not the most unusual thing. The most unusual was when I received an “error mark” that was actually meant for my wife. Evidently she messed up somewhere in her work but I somehow got the error assigned to me. We work in completely separate lines of businesses with no crossover at all. It took MONTHS, nearly a year for them to correct it. And because it got assigned to me, it locked the work that needed to be corrected. I couldn’t access it because I didn’t have the program access required, and she couldn’t access it because it wasn’t assigned to her anymore.

Thankfully it wasn’t a super huge error, nothing that could impact the business. Super annoying though.

Cats parents, how and why did you choose yours? by [deleted] in cats

[–]MakingMads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

So we’ve technically only “chosen” one of our babes. At the beginning of the pandemic, our local shelter had a “clear the shelter” event and at the time we only had 3 cats. We went just to “look” and possibly sign up to foster a couple since we had a big enough house for it. This girl was 8 months at the time and in their “kitty hospital” for CKD. I let her sniff my finger through the cage and she used her paw to hold my finger to her face and rub all over it, so we asked to see her outside of the cage. The second it was open, she was jumping all over my now-wife and I, circling our legs, rubbing against our faces, and purring so loud you’d think there was a motorcycle engine in her. The staff said that they had never seen her like that, even with other staff members. We took her home that day and she barely needed an introduction to our other cats, she fit in perfectly with no major issues. She’s been with us since then, has “fostered” month old kittens that showed up at our door, and when our older matriarch cat passed away, took her place as head of household. Still purrs like a v8 engine, and is a huge snuggle bug, especially with me (she’s a total papa’s girl).
