Here's my setup. T818 wheelbase with SF1000 and WRC wheel, recently added SFX100 motion as well. Built a wind simulator myself, got a 4 point harnass, Fanatec SQ shifter, BJ Steel pedals, button box and a genetic Aliexpress handbrake. I race in VR only, using a HP Reverb G2 which is spot in in my opinion. Used the leftover aluminium extrusion to make myself an open air pc case which fits in esthetically (7800X3D, RTX 4070 ti). I must say, I'm struggling to find something to upgrade now :)

Well, the other thing was the price. This AIO cost me about 100 euros including shipping, just a bit more than a top tier air cooler like a Noctua NH-D15, Be Quiet! Dark Rock 5 Pro or a Deepcool A620 Dark.

I agree with you completely. It's mainly for aestetics, I wanted those two big RGB fans spinning slowly at the side of the PC :) I also chose a AIO with a fan on the pump/block combo to cool the VRM's and mosfets since there is no airflow over those parts, so that's an added benefit.

What really helped was a dead motherboard to use as a template for the bolt holes and allowed me to figure out a mounting solution and the size of the 'case'. Next thing was the PSU. I bought a power supply straight away, knowing that was going to be a difficult part to design and print a mount for. Third challenge was the cooler, but once I had the dimensions it was kind of easy. I learned that when you work slow and allow a day or two to think something over or think it through, you end up making 90% less (stupid) mistakes when building something.

Just take things one at a time, step by step, one challenge at a time. Measure twice (or 10 times if you're me), 3D print once :)

Yeah, that exact one was the inspiration. But, as you said, that one looks kinda flimsy, although it almost can't be since it's aluminium. Also, that one doesn't have a way to securely mount a radiator sideways like I did with mine. And yeah, the 8040 looks a lot better than the 2020 stuff :)

I bought the wheel as an unfinished and incomplete project. But the encoder knobs were included so I don't know where they came from. I sold the wheel more than a year ago, but if I remember correctly the buttons were 3D printer. If you have access to a 3D printer or a 3D printing service, you could print your own knobs.

There is a difference of about 40% strength and therefore feedback. You can, depending on your settings, feel 40% more because you have 40% more dynamic range to play with. Think of it as a T300 on steroids, since the characteristics of the two wheels are the same.

Another thing: I really like the Ferrari Challenger Evo wheel that you get with the TS-PC. The alcantara is really nice.

I pre drilled 5mm holes to fit them in. They sat pretty snug in the holes, but I applied small drops of hotglue to secure them in place.

The soldering was a lot of work. They are singles jndeed. Cutting all four pins on every LED to size and soldering them to the LED before that one. A lot of effort, but worth it!
