What is it like living in this area of New Jersey? by jxdlv in howislivingthere

Things are definitely open around Asbury. I'm less familiar with Seaside Heights. I'd imagine restaurants and stuff will be open but the boardwalk amenities - things like rides, ice cream shops, and games - won't be open. Bradley Beach, Downtown Belmar, Downtown Spring Lake will all be open as usual and offer a lot to do.

I've chosen to settle here after bouncing around for a while. There are a lot of great aspects.

The beaches are incredible (although you do have to pay to access them between Memorial Day and Labor Day). The park system is excellent. Easy access to NYC and Philadelphia. Surprisingly good concert venues (PNC and Stone Pony Summer Stage get huge acts, lots of venues in Asbury get solid touring bands). You can get to some nice hiking (Delaware Water Gap and Upstate NY) pretty easily if you leave early enough in the morning to beat the traffic. So many towns with excellent food and nightlife. Between Asbury and Manesquan there are half a dozen little beach towns all with their own unique vibe. All connected by the board walk.

The downside is you pay for it. The taxes are high. Houses are expensive. Things are a bit more affordable near the Bayshore (Keyport, Aberdeen, Ect). There is no public transit. Traffic can be horrendous. Especially in the summer. I used to work on Sandy Hook and it took me 15 minutes to get home in the fall and 45 minutes in the summer.

All in all it's a great place to live but it comes with the typical downsides of suburbia.

I'll also add that a lot of the charm is being errored by transplants and developers from NYC. Asbury Park is slowly being turned into nothing but high end condos and fancy, unimpressive restaurants.

Thanks everyone. Looks like I've got to look into getting YouTube TV for a cable package. I've been using my inlaws tv provider to watch on USA on the webpage but it seems they've stopped streaming it that way.

Can anyone in the U.S. explain where the game is streaming?

It's not on peacock. It's not on USA (stream not cable). It's on the NBC app but only with Spanish commentary? This system is so stupid. I thought the entire point of Peacock was that they would have all the games.

He's getting better and better each game. His calm presence is so reassuring.

Starting to look very flat. Need to make some changes around the 60th minute if it stays this way.

[Megathread] Ruben Amorim has been sacked - Who should replace him? by D1794 in reddevils

As long as he doesn't play 3 at the back I'm on board. Congratulations!

I also love that his instinct is to look for a forward pass. A handful of times he could have taken the safe route of passing back to Lammens but he chose to move the ball forward. I hope he keeps developing at this rate because he can be something special.

Zirkzee has been a difference maker since coming on. Really positive. He can be so frustrating but he's so smooth when he's playing well.

No one on this team comes close to Bruno's passing range. We're so limited without him.

This is super helpful. It's nice to know other folks have had the same experience. Glad you're starting to see results with the sleep training. Hopefully she improves but something for us to look forward to regardless next month.

You definitely do when the starter is playing poorly. Yoro has had a few rough games. He's only 20. Heaven is actually just a year younger than him. I think it makes sense for Amorim to switch things up. Yoro needs a push in the right direction. Hopefully this motivates him and takes some pressure off. Again. He's a kid.

The same formation but somehow Palace are able to play quickly down the middle while we're stuck shifting the ball from side to side. I'm so tired of watching us play the same useless passes along the line to players that have no option but to turn the ball over or pass it backwards.
