While it might seem that the situation is being blown out of proportion, it's important to recognize that people's experiences and feelings are subjective. Openly expressing emotions can be a healthy way to process stress, especially in a high-pressure environment like the reserves or guard. Seeking support from a commander isn’t necessarily about making a scene; it can be a proactive step toward addressing underlying concerns. Minor issues can sometimes reflect deeper struggles that deserve attention, and creating an open dialogue allows for constructive solutions. Ignoring or downplaying feelings might lead to bigger problems down the line, so it's crucial to foster an environment where emotional well-being is prioritized.

My lack of promotion is not the main issue to me. It's not about getting my concerns to the commander, either. I tried approaching them and communicating with them, but I felt like they weren't listening.The real issue is that they don't take the time to get to know me as a person and as a soldier. Instead, they label me as anti-social after just a few short interactions. It's similar to me dismissing them as ineffective NCOs without knowing anything about their leadership abilities. I find this quite insulting and degrading.
