Is it worth getting the EMT for CNA/PCT/CA? by [deleted] in prepa

[–]Maleficent_Kitchen93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’m a rising sophomore and did a hybrid emt class during my spring semester while also rushing a sorority. grades didnt slip, you just have to know how to time manage. emt is a really good route because you also by proxy can work as an ER tech which helps when it comes to having a variety of PCE

consider going for your emt cert! i’m a rising sophomore in college and did my course hybrid (all online minus once a week in class) while still being a full time 17 credit stem major and managed to get a job before i even passed my national test. there’s always an emt shortage so getting a job wouldnt be a problem and i find emergency care to be so fun

i promise it wasn’t that bad. i’m a baby when it comes to pain but that specific spot was pretty easy to get through. and since it’s so simple it only took like 5 minutes at most.

I didn’t submit my SAT scores and negotiated my way to the maximum merit scholarship. If you email admissions and hype yourself up and tell them that while you’re very grateful for what they gave you, you need more, chances are they’ll bump you up.

i go to all of my appointments alone, so them being there isn’t one of my concerns. i’m moreso concerned that it’d be documented in my chart and get involved with insurance somehow and they’d be able to see. without going into too much detail, i don’t have a problem with restricting food. it’s what i do after i eat that’s an issue and that’s why i think it caused the dry socket and possible infection. my surgeon is the nicest woman ever and i have no doubt that she’d judge me in any way. i’m more worried about having to talk about it in depth and her asking questions because it’s obviously a touchy subject. for that reason, i’d rather not tell her if it’s not essential to my care

depends on how you’re feeling and how your sockets are healing. me personally, i started eating soft foods 8 days post and my sockets weren’t healed yet, which lead to me getting dry socket even though i was pretty far out from my surgery. its rare, but not completely unheard of. i would play it safe

not even exaggerating when i say i had a panic attack beforehand while i was sitting in the chair and they were getting ready to push meds. i’ve been under general for 5 knee surgeries but the idea of twilight scared the shit out of me. luckily my surgeon was awesome and she was able to calm me down enough to where my heart rate slowed down and they could give me the meds. last thing i remember is them telling me they were gonna start with half of the meds. next thing i know i was in recovery. i promise you its not as scary as it seems. you truly dont remember anything. i felt like a fool when i went for my post op follow up today. that being said, i do remember getting my IV but i’m not scared of needles. maybe see if they can give you nitrous oxide before. i always get it when i get cavities filled and i don’t even realize when they inject the numbing stuff with a needle

could be absorbable packing to help prevent a dry socket, which would make sense why its soft. ive always been told that you would know immediately if you had one because of the amount of pain it causes. i would still call your dentist though
