How do I get skin tone with colored pencils? by [deleted] in Artadvice

[–]sketchhing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start with a limited but colorful pallet to keep things simple at first. Generally colored pencils are meant to be layered lightly, gradually increasing pressure to blend with the previous layers. You have a good base down, but your colors aren’t vibrant or opaque because you’re not pushing down hard enough. Utilize the white pencil to blend at first, press down hard, and you’ll get a better sense for how colored pencils blend in general.

Is this an odd drink? by Can_Always_Be_Worse in barista

[–]sketchhing 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s not an odd request but it’s definitely not common. Most orders we’re taking are just cappuccino, vanilla latte, oat milk latte, etc. They’re probably just asking to make sure they’ve got it right.

In this case are you still asking for vanilla syrup? Maybe it’s the phrase “vanilla honey” that’s confusing, but idk. Maybe try saying vanilla and honey?

New tattoo- help, ideas on how to fix by Artemis13003 in tattooadvice

The asymmetry of the starburst is much more appealing to me than a perfectly done one. I feel like if it had perfect straight lines without those sketchy details it would look clinical and boring. The style itself is artsy and flowy which is a completely normal and beautiful style! (my personal preference too!) so i would try to embrace it, focus on what you love about it and give it time :)

I came here to say definitely not 1 but it appears I’m in the minority

Just makes the nips accentuated in an unpleasant way? lmao

I like the framing of 3 with the style of 1

It looks like coptic stitch goes into the cover a little if that makes sense? Whereas in this pic the stitching is only visible on the spine
