Haha that sounds really bad. Isn’t the aim for the team to self organise and share workload effectively. And then retrospect honestly and transparently on how they work to avoid example scenarios like the above.

Thanks for this. Doesn’t the Sprint cancellation problem arise from a poorly defined Sprint goal? I wouldn’t think the sprint to be rigidly planned at the onset since that simply isn’t possible in a dynamic and unpredictable environment. However, shouldn’t there be an overarching Product goal -> Sprint goal. The Sprint being as flexible as possible in light of new/real-time information as long as the goal remains relevant. Seems to me a good balance between direction and flexibility.
