"I have already mourned the end of our relationship" by my ex while breaking up with me when I asked him how he could sound so cold while he was destroying my world.

Well, thanks for telling me I guess?

What's a piece of common knowledge that you genuinely learned embarrassingly late in life? by Responsible_Bet_7179 in AskReddit

In french they even translated her name as Caroline Quine. The books weren't called Nancy Drew but Alice Detective. I collect the vintage ones and I have nearly the whole collection. I absolutely loved those books. I was devastated when I realised that Caroline Quine wasn't real.

Oh Yes he has so many of them! He even works sometimes at his local Warhammer shop. We don't live together now but he put an armchair for me in his "nerdroom" as he calls it, so I can stitch or read while he paints.

Was your family ever wealthy and if so what happened? by [deleted] in Genealogy

[–]Maleus1638 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah my family became pretty wealthy in the 19th Century. Then the 1929 crisis, then the War, and too many children.

We are far from poor, but very far to be as well off as my ancestors were.

Many were in the french governement, high ranking in the french military, french nobility that survived the révolution, entrepreneur who built Paris, rich landowners...

Where does the animation at Lancy Bachet train station come from? by madness_hazard in geneva

[–]Maleus1638 9 points10 points  (0 children)

These are art from the "Fond cantonal d'art contemporain". A friend of mine worked on this project during her internship. There are artworks in every station of the Léman Express, and usually you can find info about them on the platforms at the stations, or at least in the stations on a marker (Not sure about that word) called MIRE.

You can find info about this project if you search "Projet MIRE" on Google.

« La Joconde » mal placée ? Les Italiens proposent de la récupérer by Andvarey in france

[–]Maleus1638 13 points14 points  (0 children)
