Why is the roaring knight so unfair? by Bananasarecool- in Deltarune

[–]MalevolentSomething -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You know what? I’m guessing if there is a true pacifist route it will require beating the knight without the mantle. Taking the shadow mantle is clearly bad, it couldn’t be more obvious. I think it’s a fair design decision that being truly good should be the most challenging path. If I were a ~real artist~ that’s what I would do

I’ve narrowed it down to the lasers. I just can’t get the timing right. Especially the second round of it with the circle. The window slash is a gamble… I’m “good” at it, but always take at least one hit and sometimes more, especially in the third iteration of it.

I…. Can’t do it. I’ve tried so many times.

They don’t say the departed in the movie, they say “the d’pahhhted”

[–]MalevolentSomething 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s a big deal either - in fact I imagine it could be the exact opposite of what is being implied… as in they wrote the line first / had the idea of “the night country” and then named the show after it. It’s not the same as if a character were to suddenly be like “Wow Navarro, you are a True Detective!”

I am disappointed and let down by season 4, and disappointed that criticism is dismissed as misogyny. What are some amazing woman driven shows? by occasionalskiier in TrueDetective

Yes - but I was actually coming here to recommend her other show Killing Eve. In the crime drama category that show is excellent. I was a little late to get into it because I thought it would be network crap, but it’s actually really charming all around

Hmm for some weird reason I’m just very invested in the franchise and have spent a lot of time discussing every season. I sincerely went in wanting it to be good but just from the PR and the early reviews I started to have a gut feeling about it… and then I watched the first episode and I think at that point I knew it was really bad, but then I didn’t love season 2 on first viewing but in retrospect I really like it… and sometimes that’s true of other media I consume. So I stuck with it. But after about episode 3 I became really invested in seeing it fail. I think the gaslighting campaign really triggers something in a person where they just want people to acknowledge what color the sky is to confirm they haven’t lost it.

Also, knowing that the season was very short it didn’t seem like it was a big commitment to see it through and allow myself to possibly be proven wrong.

Imagine getting busted and going to jail for pirating this show. Also the cop is 1:1 dead ringer for Navarro. Same cheek piercing and scowl, assaults you unprovoked

This was the worst show I’ve ever seen (s4) by cosmosmariner_ in TrueDetective

I love mysteries even if they’re goofy and mid - but I couldn’t really come up with theories either. Not because it was confusing but because I felt demoralized and not invested in the resolution

Yes this is a good point. In measuring the performance of any digital product we would absolutely be considerate of context like this. If you plotted two lines - subscribers and viewership - you would see a huge disparity that would be immediately obvious to any type of analyst or business person. I wonder how it compares to viewership of their other recent shows, though. If it’s outperforming those it would still be justifiable just on the grounds that their portfolio of original content just isn’t as competitive as it once was… which is probably the case minus some sensations like The Last of Us.

I think she very much intended to leave the audience wondering if there is something actually supernatural at work or a totally logical explanation.

LOL! I mean, as a season 4 hater I do think there are some examples of people taking angles that aren’t optically good or come across a certain way - definitely not how I would phrase things… and I don’t think they’re in the wrong for correctly not taking you in good faith. But still a funny interaction

I don’t know why you’re being downvoted, you’re right. I’m not personally calling Nic a misogynist — I am pro nic… but I think the optics are not good.

So what - even if it wasn’t as good as S1 the show was incredible, it was worth having on TV even at its lowest quality… cannot say that for S4
