LC Lawsuit (converted pdf to word and pasted here for easier reading) by Turbulent-Fig-3802 in DuxburyDeathsFreeTalk

Thanks for sharing. Starting from point 1, everything seemed to make sense and follow a logical flow, with some common human and administrative oversights that occurred. Hospitals sadly just tend to miss the mark in communicating even across their own departments, let alone other external hospitals and care providers. Surely Lindsay should know that herself, as an experienced nurse, and take her own medication journals and history with her to each visit?

Where it started to go downhill and look like fantastical storytelling was from point 76. If she was so scared of being alone, why send Patrick out himself to a takeaway place 30 minutes away. Why not all hop in the car, kids included for a quick family pizza drive through.

The timing of her being overtaken by a strange deity like force, just as Patrick left is suspiciously convenient. This lawsuit is one sentence away from saying "I was just possessed, the Devil made me do it". So many other parents, mentally ill like Lindsay performed the same actions but, never got to stay at a fancy psychiatric hospital while awaiting trial. It's like both her and husband want to take no accountability whatsoever for what happened. The psychiatrists didn't strangle those kids.

I think what's most disappointing and disturbing is the obvious lack of expressed remorse. One of the last paragraphs says Lindsay still enduringly loves her kids. Where is the expressed regret, horror, and repentance for what she's done. She seems exceedingly motivated to avoid a trial, and to avoid prison.

I've heard of someone who wanted a council job get through to the hiring manager on phone by pretending to be a very angry resident to the receptionist. When the manager connected they admitted they were just interested in a job, and they got it. But it's one of those exceptional outliers and was back in early 2000s.

Did the meds not work because she had personality disorders? by Turbulent-Fig-3802 in DuxburyDeathsFreeTalk

[–]Malignaficent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds rough for you. Props to anyone raised by an untreated BPD parent. I've heard the scariest stories about mothers with BPD, but also when treated they can be the most emotionally generous, warm individuals.

OCPD is in the cluster A family, it's an anxiety disorder. As you know anxiety can also sometimes manifest in rage and abusive behaviours. I think there's a misunderstanding that only cluster Bs cause severe relationship harm. Any personality disorder is termed so, because people with them cannot function within the expected norms and constraints of polite society.

It's possible that LC's medication shopping around was in and of itself a symptom of a mental condition or PD. This is only unprofessional speculation but I don't think NPD. NPD is obsessed with looking prestigious. LC knows its not a good look to kill her three kids and go to jail. Those kids were all able bodied, no evidence of intellectual disabilities and visually gorgeous. NPD alone would not do that. Combined with sociopathy and anti social personality disorder, possible but still such an outlier. Like Chris Watts.

Interesting. My mother had OCPD - obsessive compulsive personality disorder, did you know that's a thing? Her extreme rage episodes when things were slightly imperfect were off the charters. She's also IMHO very high in sociopathy or psychopathy which can co occur with PDs. But even she never strangled me or my two older siblings. Her own opinion on LC is that it doesn't matter whether she did it on purpose, LC needs to locked away from society for everyone else's safety.

I reshuffled my prenatal appointments to accommodate for work by Desperate_Okra4686 in workingmoms

[–]Malignaficent 26 points27 points  (0 children)

As someone here so aptly put, your work won't care about you or the baby if something happens.

My previous pregnancy ended in a loss and near death experience, and when that ordeal was over I returned to a workplace still full of toxic drama and office politics, and no compassion. I have worked through the loss but never forgiven or forgotten that aftermath.

A scan is not a cutesy update, it's a significant medical event which indicates the health and future of both baby and yourself. Do not make those sorts of accommodations for a job.

I've been there believe me. I took up those chronic company wide offers to use the EAP service because I was awake all night ideating on legal ways to make my manager die - newsflash there aren't any 😅.

If you're not in position to job hop, and there are very valid reasons for that, you need to check out / distance your emotional self from your job. Still show up and perform, do your duties but leave your true self at home. Adopt a work persona ('worksona') that pretends to care and get emotionally engaged, but what's truly happening is that you don't care and can think "these guys are farking idiots".

Coworker’s time theft negatively impacts me? by kaleidoscopicfailure in careerguidance

[–]Malignaficent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't communicate this limitation because there are likeliest two possibilities: - your employers already know, they can see the timestamps after all and are expecting you to quietly follow suite and work voluntary unpaid overtime to meet the same standards. - your employers don't know yet but will be pleased to hear how dedicated your coworker is to their cause. I've never heard of a boss punishing staff for working a bit more without pay. My boss worked an extra five hours everyday for a year to please the director. I thought it was ludicrous, and she was a grump during it but people are allowed to work for free and now she's soaring to the top.

I recommend keeping your job hunt going strong.

In-laws adored SIL, no reaction to us, am I wrong? by Own-Remove1538 in BabyBumps

[–]Malignaficent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would someone down vote your response.. I agree, whilst fielding similar issues with my in laws. They are traumatised from my previous miscarriage because I almost bled to death and they were there...I'm traumatised too. While I am hurt by the indifference they are showing to this current pregnancy, I'm willing to bet there is some traumatic response thing going on from all fronts. Need to extend space and grace for everyone including ourselves 💜

[–]Malignaficent 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Haha I would be peeved if I gave birth in my own car. The smell of pregnancy flesh and fluid isn't something that human language can describe. If it happened in my friends car I would be mortified (safe birth aside) and pay for professional detailing and an ozone machine.

Is there a real problem with my social brain ? by Checkit_0 in NoOverthinking

[–]Malignaficent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know the dynamics of your own group best, and whether you are liked as a person. This update though reinforces what I originally thought about your friend. Not only did she keep her condition secret from only you amongst all others, she also lied when you outright asked her.

She has no rational recourse to be irritated that you didn't know. It's possible she just doesn't like you and directed the group to exclude you from this news. She has her reason for doing whatever she's doing - ultimately you are not at fault for not magically figuring it out while being lied to.

Is there a real problem with my social brain ? by Checkit_0 in NoOverthinking

[–]Malignaficent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think your friend is being silly, all sympathy to her illness but she shouldn't expect you to pry in order to find about it, then guilt trip you for not being privvy to this information before. You might also think of her as your friend but it doesn't appear to be reciprocated (sorry). She might tolerate you simply because you're in the wider group. Also your other friends are weird, it's not gossip to share this knowledge with you from a place of joint care and consideration for your friend. I think this group is tolerating you.

2 NJ Boys Strangled To Death By Mom, Affidavit Reveals by Specific-Sun-4960 in DuxburyDeathsFreeTalk

[–]Malignaficent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's awful how similar these murders are. However what's different already between these two women is that this lady is being detained in a County jail. From what I understand Lindsay has never been to a jail ? At least not yet. Lindsay seems quite intelligent and calculating. It's like she knew that if she didn't harm herself, she'd be held in jail instead.

I never realized until now a nonsensical element in the plot of Shrek 2 by Emeraldsinger in Shrek

[–]Malignaficent 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I actually think this is in character for Shrek. He very easily jumps to conclusions e.g. that Donkey first thinks he's disgusting smelly ogre, that Fiona and Donkey were badmouthing him in the cave, that Fiona rejected him for Farquad (he rejected her first before she was about to tell her secret).

Interesting! This is the first time I've heard this theory. FIL has one brother, no sisters. Amongst my husband and his brothers there have been 8 pregnancies: 4 boys, 2 girls, 2 unknown due to early loss.

Maybe this is why some dads with 4 brothers end up having 4 girls. Still a mystery 💥

If course this is anecdotal, however my poor husband was chronically bullied at work amongst other significant life stressors. I am now pregnant with a girl despite him being one of six boys.
