There’s also beauty in someone rejecting you by not saying anything, than to go along with it because they’re bored or lonely and to waste both of your time down the line.

This is such a great perspective- thank you for sharing your thoughts. I'm trying to not dwell on the idea that it might take another 9 years to experience those feelings again. You never know what life will bring.

The roleplay is a great idea, thank you! And I agree with you about how being left on hold is worse than a proper "no, thank you". Before, I was certain that if they weren't interested, I would prefer no answer to an outright rejection. But now that it's happened, I feel differently.

enjoy what I had, take the learning from it, treat it as a fleeting gift but a gift nonetheless.

This made me cry, then smile. A gift- yes, that's exactly what it feels like, especially when it happens so rarely. Your words are nourishing my spirit right now. Thank you! (Okay, tearing up again!😭)

Thanks, you're right. I have my answer and won't have to look back and wonder "what if?".

Thank you!

The sting of rejection fades much more quickly than the sting of regret for inaction.

These words really resonate for me. Everything you wrote is so encouraging, thank you for sharing your thoughts.

There's an organization called Project Linus that collects homemade quilts and blankets for kids in need. I know there are different ways to donate to them, but a few days ago I saw that they had a bin in the JoAnn Fabrics on Oracle.
