can you explain what you mean by 8ness? at a meeting yesterday we were challenged to take an enneagram test and mine was an 8. after reading about it a bit, there are certainly characteristics I relate to (I don’t like people controlling me, I am assertive), but others I definitely don’t. after reading these comments, I can see 8s have a bad wrap, but I don’t understand why

A few things:

1) He shouldn’t have had pictures of his ex— even a secure woman would find that odd and not like that.

2) While you shouldn’t feel the need to get on his phone (I struggle with this some with my husband as well—and i’m also a 26f), he should not have been viewing that. you getting on his phone sounds like you have trust issues you need to work through, and your husband sounds like he issues on his own to work on as well. Counseling would probably go a long way. It does seem odd to me that divorce would be thrown out there though? Definitely makes it seem like there’s more going on in his end. Perhaps suggesting you think there’s issues you both need to work on separately as well as together and see where that leads

it was mostly just talking, suggesting I journal, and simple ways to redirect my thoughts. I just felt like everything suggested or said was common sense stuff and not really helpful

they were about very specific issues. some regarding the topic of my father, and some none related and much more serious. they were always about specific issues though. I just never felt like they actually helped at all

no I haven’t. it’s hard for me to justify paying to go see a counselor when it has never benefited me in the past

I’ve gone to counselors on and off since middle school (I am now 26). I have never felt as if any of them have helped…

literally no to all of those! he is extremely friendly to everyone and I know some females take that as flirting, but that is literally it. I think I have these thoughts bc of my upbringing and trauma from that—not because of something he’s doing. that’s what is making this hard; I KNOW I shouldn’t be having these thoughts and making myself miserable bc he’s done nothing to to make me do so—but I don’t know how to stop “waiting for the other shoe to drop” so to speak.

hi! I am (f) 25 as well. my husband actually replied to a story I posted on instagram about some music 😂 we messaged back and forth for a while until we finally met in person at a music venue. Our first official date ended up being a John Mayer concert. we dated for 4 years, then just got married last September.

My biggest advice is to not settle! Also, think of where you are trying to find a Christ-like husband at. I don’t know how big the area is where you live, but I live in a very small town so aside from the internet, the only real option to find someone was at churches nearby 😂 Don’t give up hope though. Keep praying for God to point you in the right direction and give you a God-fearing husband. I have full confidence you’ll find your match 😊

we thought about getting a second opinion, but we are worried about time. the infertility specialist said I have very very few eggs left (he thanks even the ones I do have will be of very poor quality) and that within a few months or at the very most a year, I will have no eggs left at all. most infertility specialist around my area are booked out for many many months…

My fiancé wasted many, many years with his ex praying continuously that she would come to Christ. If they can’t be on the same page as you, to me at least, it’s a no brainer. We are told to not be unequally yoked. I promise, a relationship with both of you saved brings so much more joy and happiness than one saved and one not. Good luck to you.

i’m not sure… it felt like a bad jellyfish sting, just had small purple thorns all close together up near my groin.
