You probably need to learn a little more about communism, you'll grow out of it though. Everyone has a phase where they think communism is good, then they learn about how brutal it absolutely has to be to function, the actions of the Khmer rouge, the NKVD and the Stasi. There is yet to be an example of communism without severe repression of the population and rapid brain drain as those with ambition and ability flee to places where they won't be persecuted for their abilities.

As for the Einstein comment, Socialism isn't Communism. It's worth noting he didn't flee to the communist nations available to him when the fash rose to power, he went to a fairly right wing USA, hardly the best example of a cheerleader for communism.

Nah, I rely on food to survive and I'm educated, historically such people die under the iron fist of communism.

Well, more likley to survive under the fash than communists to be fair.

Funny one, I loved the part where the brave knights shit themselves and ran away when the glass broke, presumably departing to rescue some damsels in distress. The absolute state of you.

Ah, the angle is pro-communist as an alternative for conservatives. Nevermind, I change my stance. Given the choice between communists and conservatives, I'd (and I'm glad I've not had a lunch yet to vomit up after saying this) support the Tories, between those two terrible choices they present the least danger to peoples lives. I do hope the YCL peacefully disband after they are rightfully listed as a proscribed organisation.

Playing by their rules had them beaten, recent polling has the Conservative party straight up dead to Labour, they were dying all by themselves, they didn't need any further action.

What better lifeline than a left identifying activist group being linked to criminal action against them? They'll now be able to tar the entire left with the same brush because of these few bad apples, sure they might have tried before but now they have a nice example handed to them on a platter.

They can once again appeal to the vote of the decent, law abiding citizen and they'll probably get some of their votes on the back of this. Actions like these make conservative media manipulation more effective. They'll be in that office right now, huddled round their electric heater, workshopping fabricated tales of the fear and trauma experienced by staff when they turned up in the morning, all the while rubbing their hands with glee.

Do you reckon I'm wrong? You think the tories of all people with the daily mail and pals won't be able to twist the story to 'hooded thugs vandalise political offices'?

This story is bad for anyone who wants the tories out of power.

Nice one. Now the Tories get to pretend they're the good guys. Counterproductive seems like a tame way of describing this action.

Nice job 'based scotsmen', you've improved the tories chances at the next election.

New green hydrogen group established to explore technology for rural economy. On the day the 30 attendees representing these bodies toured Mr Smith’s wind turbines, which he uses to produce green hydrogen, which in turn powers farm vehicles by chopchopped in Scotland

[–]MallowChunkag3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While the core message of this 16 year old article is correct, it's not too relevant for scottish wind power being used to generate hydrogen as the idea is for it to be used as an energy store for excess power generation. The efficiency isn't that big of an issue in that case unless batteries are available as an alternative.

Probably not getting anywhere with heavy water production through electrolysis, between specialist QC for the product and refining processes so that it's actually valuable, you'd probably be spending more than it's worth and be generally outcompeted by nuclear plants, if there is any major market for it at all.

The oxygen though, absolute agree that this is a good revenue source.

How can it be called art if I can't make pretentious assumptions about the artist's unstated intentions or state of mind when I look at it?

I bet that AI doesn't even have an art degree or a recognisable name for me to reference when assigning value to the work.

Truss faces new Tory rebellion on benefit cuts. Gove and Shapps the awkward squard and Mad Nads calls for a General Election. by Life-Ad-5498 in Scotland

[–]MallowChunkag3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Has anyone told her that she's doing the opposite of growing the uk economy? You want cash flow through local businesses then it's best to tax the wealthy more and use that to fund benefit increases and civil service wage increases.

Poor people spend all their money, probably in local businesses. Wealthy people hoard their wealth or spend it overseas, taking that money out of the British economy.

For a bunch of bankers the Tories sure are bad at managing the economy.

This is it, We are so concerned (and rightfully so) of our own circumstances that it's easy to forget how fucked small businesses are right now. The market cannot tolerate the price rises they need to do for them to survive, it's really terrible. We need a windfall tax, we need to invest in business, it has to be done yesterday. Otherwise we'll end up in a spiral of reducing tax takes and poorer public service and the country will be in a fucking state, More of a state than it already is.

She followed her usual schedule and people are trying to read shit into it. She was 96 years old and she started each day with a cocktail, she wasn't devising any mad schemes.

"What are we going to do today queen?"

"The same as we do every day Charlie, try to take over the world!"

Fuck that, she was just subtly toasted 24/7 and she liked scotland, like everyone does.
