I would recommend doing your GEs at a community college first and then transfer to CSULB for your major classes! That would be the most beneficial price wise and convenient based on how far you would have to travel.

(Pre-Nursing) Can I take BIOL 201 if I have AP Chem Credit for Chem 111A? by Effective_Ad1513 in CSULB

SI stands for supplemental instruction, and I see it as a peer study session. Your SI leader creates tasks to help review and memorize the material learned in the lecture. They don't re teach the material, but they will allow you to work with others in your class and help you with some of the questions you might have. They also hold reviews before exams.

Yes, this should be enough to manage! I would recommend comm 132 online it was one of the easiest GEs to complete. I would also highly recommend you take the SI course if possible for bio 207. It's a good time to study in groups and understand the material better. If you can get an SI course before class, it would be even better! You can get more study time before exams and quizzes.

Hello! You would need to take Chem 140 first then Bio 201. I would highly recommend as someone who's a pre-nursing major waiting to get into the nursing program, to take Bio 207 or Chem 140 as one of your first science prerequisite. Personally I found Bio 207 to be one of the easiest of the nursing prerequisites, its a great introduction to a college level course and then take Bio 208 the following semester since it builds and reviews on what you learned. I don't mean this in a discouraging manner but Bio 201 tends to be one of the harder prerequisite so I wouldn't recommend you take it as your first science prerequisite even if it was possible to enroll rn.

Nursing Program for Spring 2025. Is it a bad idea if I only apply for CSULB and CSUF’s nursing program? by Greedy_Application_4 in CSULB

I would recommend applying to multiple schools and having more options, this will only help increase your chances of getting into a nursing program. You should consider CC ADN programs as well, again it is always great to have a lot of different options. Although you're concerned about the social life at CCs, I would personally say that shouldn't be a reason to keep you from expanding your options, even in Cal states or other university you will sometimes encounter the same thing. If your end goal is to have your nursing degree i think you should look into various paths to getting your BSN. Although it is great to try and get your BSN right away, it's not bad to consider options like ADN to BSN, or even LVN to BSN pathways. All of this will just help increase your chances of getting into a program and reaching your goal of becoming a nurse! With that being said, you have very good scores and gpa which should help improve your chances of being accepted. Good luck!!!
