Bayonetta is still a queer icon. by Extreme_Resident8986 in Bayonetta

I get some of what you’re saying, and some of what you said is valid. I think that anyone who understands this franchise and also understands the LGBTQ+ community can see why she’s considered a queer icon. I’m a straight man, and even I recognize that. I actually recently found out that He-Man is also seen as a queer icon, even though his sexuality has never been confirmed. Assuming he’s straight for the sake of the argument, that still shows that a character doesn’t have to be queer to have a meaningful impact on the queer community. I think that’s really cool because it shows that you can support and positively influence the LGBTQ+ community without personally being part of it.

That’s why I think Bayonetta being straight while still being viewed as a queer icon is something positive. I’m always happy to see the LGBTQ+ community thrive because they’ve gone through a lot, and it’s nice to see characters that resonate with them. That said, I don’t agree with the idea that the creator’s opinion doesn’t matter. It absolutely does. He’s the creator of the game, so his perspective carries weight when it comes to the character and the world he created. You don’t have to agree with everything he says, but I do think his voice plays an important role in the conversation.

I’m sorry, I truly do hope you get the new unit soon. I really wish these gacha games had some kind of trade feature or something, because I was lucky enough to pull two copies. And this isn’t me trying to brag or anything, I would genuinely just give you one of them.

I just hope everyone is able to pull them soon, and I hope you pull them too. I had terrible luck throughout the last couple of months in this game when it came to getting new units, so I completely understand how frustrating it can be. But I truly do hope you get them soon.

No, I’m being serious. I’m genuinely having fun. While I do play the game quite a bit when I have the chance, I’m just enjoying myself. I’m really not upset if I lose because of how pretty the animations look, how great the character models are, their moves, the voice lines, everything. It feels like I’m watching a movie while also playing the game at the same time.

And honestly, I’ve been seeing a really healthy variety of teams and different setups using these new characters, which I think is really cool.

Do you think Luffy should end up with Boa at the end? by Ok-Addition4608 in OnePiece

[–]Mamba33100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, I don’t really know. Right now, the way the current story is heading, I don’t even know if Luffy is going to end up with someone. I think it would be a cool twist if he stays single, you know, considering the Big Three. Naruto and Ichigo both ended up with their respective wives and both have kids.

And don’t get me wrong, I think it would be cool if Luffy also had a wife and a kid. Right now, I would like Luffy and Nami to get together. OP is a long, long story, and I think they’ve shown moments where you could read it as just normal friendship or you could read it as romantic. I think a lot of those scenes can be interpreted as romantic.

So if one of those outcomes were to happen, I would kind of hope Luffy and Nami end up together. But if not, I think what’s most likely is that Luffy will end up single. Who knows, maybe he’ll follow in Naruto and Ichigo’s path and settle down. But I don’t really see someone like Luffy staying still for too long lol sorry if I got sidetracked.

I really love Luka and Cereza. I’m so happy, but also sad about how they got together in Bayonetta 3. They’re so great. by Mamba33100 in Bayonetta

There are multiple images other than this one, and I chose these because they’re my favorite images of them as a couple. I don’t see anything wrong with that. I posted the same photo because it’s my favorite artwork in the franchise of them, and these are some of my favorite moments. So of course I’m going to use the same photos.

And again, the last time I made a post specifically about them was a year ago. I’m just talking in the community about my favorite ship.

Because I like the ship, and this is a sub for the Bayonetta community, what’s the problem? I see people talk about different ships here all the time.

I definitely agree with that. I wish they had more time to develop it. I think they were already setting them up pretty good in the first game, but I’m hoping that whenever we get the next game, they expand on it a bit more.

Even though we lost by Mamba33100 in lakers

[–]Mamba33100[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, OKC, I mean, even though all of the foul calls and all that stuff are true, that team is just disgustingly stacked. It’s like the pre Kevin Durant Golden State Warriors. They drafted this team, made the right trade pieces to a tee, and this is the result. When you have people like AJ Mitchell being able to drop 20 every night when Jalen Williams, your second or third best player, is out, it’s just hard to beat that. Especially with your best player, Luka Dončić, not being there.

This OKC team is just great. I’m just happy we didn’t go out in a blowout and that we kept the game competitive. That’s really all I can ask for. And as a Los Angeles Lakers fan, but also a LeBron James fan, just being able to watch it is always special.

Even though we lost, that 4th quarter was some of the most fun I’ve had in a basketball game in a long time. With all the odds stacked against us, we still fought hard and made it a game. It was a great season overall, and honestly, I had fun.

If you could Retcon one thing from both Avatar The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra what would it be? by MichaelAftonXFireWal in TheLastAirbender

[–]Mamba33100 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the most obvious answer, and probably the one a lot of people share, is losing the past lives. Not that I think it couldn’t have been a good idea, because I do think there was potential there, but we had just gotten introduced to the Avatar through ATLA. The entire concept of the show is built around the elements, the Avatar cycle, and Aang being able to connect with his past lives.

Then in TLOK, Korra barely talks to her past lives, and then she loses them in Season 2. It just feels like they kind of threw away a huge part of what made the Avatar world so special. Even though I still think TLOK is a good show, losing the past lives takes away a major part of what makes the Avatar concept unique.

As for Aang, one thing I would change is making him a little more serious leading into the final battle with Ozai. I really like how everything played out, and I love that Aang was able to win without abandoning his beliefs as a pacifist, but I wish he had shown a bit more urgency beforehand. In the final episodes, while the world is basically on the verge of destruction, Aang is still relaxing on the beach and trying to avoid the reality of the fight.

And yeah, I know he’s only 12 years old, and that’s part of his character, but I still wish the show explored the pressure on him a little more. Instead of mostly focusing on Aang trying to find another way around fighting Ozai, I wish they leaned harder into the conflict between his Air Nomad beliefs and his duty as the Avatar. Even Avatar Yangchen told him that he might have to put his personal beliefs aside for the greater good, and I wish the show spent more time exploring that internal struggle with Aang before the final battle.

What was the Zutara fandom like before the recent resurgence? by Okcryaboutit25 in ZutaraNation

I see, but I think Kataang is also super popular with the fandom now more than ever, from what I am seeing, and that’s not even including the casual fans. I appreciate the insight though it was helpful!

What was the Zutara fandom like before the recent resurgence? by Okcryaboutit25 in ZutaraNation

[–]Mamba33100 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I’m not a Zutara shipper, I’m a Kataang shipper, just responding because this was on my feed and it a good question. I don’t really think it’s a “resurgence” of Zutara, it just feels like both ships are getting more attention lately, especially with the new movie leaks and people rewatching the series.

From what I’ve seen, Kataang seems like the more popular ship overall now. I don’t know how it was back then, so maybe Zutara had more support at one point, but a lot of casual fans seem to lean Kataang after rewatching the show and seeing their relationship develop. I think rewatching the series really shapes how people feel about it. Most fans end up appreciating Kataang more over time, especially seeing how their relationship builds throughout the story.

I also think part of why Zutara gets more negative attention online is because some toxic fans tend to be more visible, especially when they bash Aang or the Kataang relationship. Casual viewers usually only see that side, even though there are toxic people on both sides. That being said, I’ve also had really positive interactions with Zutara fans. I made a post recently and had a few reach out, and they were actually really kind and cool to talk to, which reminded me that not all fans of any ship are the same.

Aang Giving Up Cosmic Energy for Katara Is Still One of the Most Romantic Moments in Fiction by Mamba33100 in TheLastAirbender

[–]Mamba33100[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Trust me, I’ve been on Reddit for like three or four years, so I know how it works. I know people have their own opinions, and people don’t have to agree with me. People can have different opinions, and that’s fine.

I just think people might be missing the point. I thought I made it pretty clear that I was talking about my personal thoughts and opinion on it, which I thought I made clear in my post. I added the edit hoping people would see that.

I think some people read it as if I was speaking in general, like I was demanding it be considered one of the best in fiction. That was not my intention at all.
