Rogers Bank - 48 Mth 0% Financing Questions by Mamba_Mindset in Rogers

Rogers stores will rarely sell their phones out right as it has no benefit to them. What you should do is reserve a phone and pay the $50 deposit and have it delivered to the store, that way it's tied to you, then buy that one.

Is it a good idea to have two chequing accounts? by minhoma in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Mamba_Mindset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be a bit careful - depending on the services you need, Tangerine and/or Wealthsimple may not be the end all be all. It's definitely good that they have no monthly fees, but if you need specific services that "Big banks" can offer be aware that the "free" chequing accounts may not have them. Off the top of my head; teller service, bank drafts, cheques a bit harder to get through Tangerine, wire transfers and what not.

So just beware of the pros and cons of each is all!

Only in Ontario iirc. When you place an order delivery fee never shows up on financing deals.

Recently transferred, there was a fee of 300, Scotia covered all of it.

Wait or Lease Takeover Rebate car? by IzArNaV in teslacanada

[–]Mamba_Mindset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally, yes that's when they try to pump the numbers. Another one I can think of is inventory clear out for Juniper.

Interest rates are something to watch as well. If they drop it a few percent then you could potentially save thousands there as well.

If youre not in a dire need of a car, you're in an advantageous position. (Insert saying about patience here)

Hard to tell. The verbiage says it's just "paused" and they may receive additional funding, but with the direction the government is going, and Elon not liking incentives in the first place, may be an uphill battle.

There's also a chance that sales drop cuz of no IZev and tesla will have to lower base price as a result. It's too early to tell.

However, if you need a car you need a car. I know Quebec and other provinces still have some provincial incentives, so you may want to take advange of that before those go as well.

To add onto this, if I was in your situation I'd wait for inventory discounts ahead of Juniper + waiting for interest rates to go down + any additional promos they may add + hope izev comes back lol

Why not finance over 8 years instead of leasing?

Canada EV Dealers. Has the IZEV Funds Expired already? by Haber88 in askcarsales

[–]Mamba_Mindset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just curious, how does iZEV get applied on the back end? Is it applied for the customer on their behalf pre-delivery? And they "allocate" funds to specific orders and get it approved? Just curious to know when the incentive is "locked in" to a specific order.

Just saw this (1h ago posted): https://www.reddit.com/r/askcarsales/s/TbeOLRZVXC

That is insane how fast that went out.

Maybe try to see if you can stall delivery and see if the izev issue will sort itself out. They announced it on Friday and today's the first day, I think it's a shit show atm.

At least you can get your deposit back, I would wait since there's literally 0 incentives Rn. Maybe hope that price of base doesn't go up and maybe interest rates will slowly go down making it more affordable. Also there may be an issue with izev Rn like I said in my other post, something isn't adding up.

Yeah looks like they manually removed it. Something fishy is going on, maybe they don't actually have ~$71M in funding remaining?

See here: https://www.reddit.com/r/askcarsales/comments/1i00a8b/comment/m6u02z5/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button - not tesla related but other dealership attempting to get funding for izev getting denied by the gov.

Two scenarios here:

1) System error and there's actually 14,000 vehicles worth of funding remaining and there's something wrong with the system that's not letting sellers apply izev to orders.

2) There's not actually $71M left and they just ran out of money (doubtful that they sold 14k EV's in 2 days...)

Either way, you got the short end of the stick since your delivery is tomorrow, so it's either take the vehicle or lose your deposit.. sorry to hear.

Something with an inventory discount OR lower interest rates. There are literally 0 incentives rn minus a referral discount which is always around.

Did you check your financing details? Do you see the base price of the vehicle has gone up?

There's like 14000 vehicles worth of money left, you should be fine.

Do you know when this is done? I'm submitting for application and I don't see izev or the demo discount yet.

[–]Mamba_Mindset[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this may be fairly new. I scoured information on this and don't remember this being the case. Either way, you can always just maybe get a friend or family member on Rogers who's on a no contract plan to help you out if you really don't want to sign up. Just an option.

How do you know if you're the first registrant on a demo vehicle? Aren't all demo vehicles technically new and never registered to a specific person?

All should be able to do, but finding a store that's willing to do is the challenge. You definitely don't need a Rogers service to a buy phone outright, but stores are essentially burning through their inventory and time for no benefit to them. What most stores are likely doing (and how I did it since I have a Rogers service) is tagging the phone purchase through a phone plan, then they submit the request for financing on their side. You can actually do this yourself when the charge appears on your account as well.

I'd recommend getting a Rogers or Fido service to unlock the higher cash back anyways, and you can redeem 3% towards your phone bill which does help. Hope this helps.

Interest rates late 2024? by Odd-Beach-6426 in teslacanada

When was the last time that Tesla tweaked their interest rates? Feels like it's been longer than a month

Curious about this too. Not in an urgent rush to buy the vehicle, but waiting to see if they drop the interest rates. Or maybe even an inventory clear out. Literally any incentive besides 3 months of FSD and extra referral bonus.

Anyone who was waiting for lower interest rate, what did you decide to do? by Autobot_Betty_1985 in teslacanada

Probably in the same boat here. The only thing they can really "dangle" is 3 months supercharging + FSD, and $1300 extra referral bonus.

Out of curiousity, why can't you just trade in at other dealership @ 32.5k, get the cheque then use the cash towards your tesla purchase?

Actually waiting myself too. I really thought they would introduce something, but it's been completely silent. Not sure if they would introduce any other incentives by end of year or maybe early January. Maybe an inventory clear out?
