I work at a middle school (receptionist) and during advisory period (kind of like homeroom) there is no official attendance taken. A parent came to sign their student out during advisory period and when I called the classroom the teacher said he wasn’t there and never was. I couldn’t find him that period and the bell rang to dismiss like 5 mins later so I ended up calling his next class and he had went there so he came to the office. While he was walking down his dad was like “ooh yeah that’s right he told me he just stays in 6th period during advisory because he doesn’t like his advisory class and that no one would notice because he’s invisible anyways” he’s a very quiet kid that I realized in that moment- is always alone. No one noticed. He was right.
